Default 5th Gen Springs on 4th Gen?

I was wondering if 5th gen lowering springs from neuspeed would fit on my 4th gen prelude? Also, which tend to be the best lowering springs? Are the ebay ones any good by any chance?

I know people have put 4th Gen Springs on a 5th Gen so Im assuming it works the other way.

As far as what the "best" spring is it depends on a lot of things, like what you use your car for, and how much of a drop you are looking for.

Personally I am going to go /w Ground Controls.

I've sold 4th gen springs and seen them installed on a 5th gen, and have had 5th gen springs on my 4th gen.

It's all gravy, baby

Would anyone like to give a second opinion? I don't want to get stuck with these Neuspeed 5th gen springs. Will there be any difference in perofmance or any thing like that at all? The springs i am planning on buying were used for a year on a 5th gen. Would that create any problems?

I was told that 5th gen springs should fit on 4th gen no problem. The only thing that concerns me is that H&R sports have a slightly different number than the 4th gen. Same part number but they taked on a letter at the end of the part number. Not sure why though.

Oh, I have a set of H&R sport springs for sale. They are the 5th Gen number.

Should the neuspeed ones fit ok then? BY the way, how much for the h&r springs? Would I b able to use them on my 4th gen? Does it matter that the model numbers are slightl different between 4th and 5th gen in all companies?

AndyD, were those springs off a 4th gen. Your car is a 4th gen, isnt it?

The H&Rs are EXACTLY the same spring for both 5th and 4th gens, trust me I bought the 5th gen springs and the p/n on the springs is the same as the 4th gen.
The box p/n is different, its all for the money so the shop will have to stock both.

If I get springs that were used on a 5th gen though, will it make a difference that the 5th gen would have been heavier and might it handle less than optimalbecause of that?

I would say no; the preludes are very close in weight, and about every company uses the same springs on both anyways.

From what I've seen, they sit the same.

If you are looking into the Neuspeed springs, why don't you just buy them for your 4th gen lude?

Nice, I wasn't even thinking about that. I bought my sport springs for $143 shipped and brand new. Make sure they are in good condition prior to purchasing them though.

4th gen prelude springs will fit on 5th gens and vise versa. There is actually a difference in spring rates between the two, but nothing that you are going to notice. The 5th gens have a slightly higher spring rate than the 4th gens.

The 5th gen is 30lbs heavier, do you think they are going to spend all that money to re-design them??

I can only speak for sure for H&Rs for both 4th and 5th THEY ARE THE SAME,
take em out of the box and look at the p/n to see for yourself.

Call Neuspeed to find out for sure.
