b16a intake manifold on a b18b???
My friend was suggesting to me that I should get a used b16a intake manifold from the scrapyard for my b18b... and he said that it would be better then my current intake manifold..
my question is.. does the b16a intake manifold work with my vtec-less car and does it actually make a difference? and how hard is it to install it by myself?
any tips on installing it and about how much my car would gain/lose from installing it would help... thanx again for the responses guyz/ladies....

it's not a direct bolt on. it has to be modified to fit the B18B head. you gotta take it to a machine shop who knows how to weld/cut aluminium.
the gains are pretty good. especially in the high rpm area. the B16 manifold is similar to the ITR one. only the ITR one has shorter intake runners and a larger plenium. the ITR one will give you more peak power in the higher RPM but will loose a little more in the low-mid range compared to the B16 manfold.

awww r u serious? its gonna hafta be welded/cut? what exactly needs to be done to this... and is it good to bore this b16a intake manifold out a little more? my throttle body is bored to 64 mm....
and how much would the welding/cutting cost? or even has anyone else done this and can tell me what is needed to be welded/cut? my friend is a really good welder... so yah..
im gonna be doing ls/crv vtec later on in the future... would i be able to still use this after its been welded or cut for ls/crv vtec?

isnt the ITR intake manifold supposed to fit on the b18b? if so then the b16 is the same bolt pattern as that. if not sorry for the waste of bandwidth

i've put in b16a intake manifold and itr manifold on a ls head before, but you have to modified the manifold and take off a few studs from the intake manifold side....not hard to do but your better off getting a skunk manifold......i have one for sale brand new hit me u on my email if interested...i'll sell it cheap!
