It all depends on how much time you are willing to put into it and how much money you want to spend.

GSRs Brakes are bolt ons to EGs and they provide a lot of stopping power without fading and rotor warping because the EG is several hundred pounds lighter.

If you really want big brakes, one of your main criteria is if the bigger disks (say from a TL) will mount to the EG's spindle or hub. You will have to visit the machine shop to make some modifications and probably fabricate custom brackets for the caliper

quite a few different options including typr R size brakes using stock components and other kits that are even bigger and with options of trick rotors and/or calipers.

I like the ITR fronts redrilled to 4x100 on an eg's. Lots of roadrace cars around here are running them like that. I think I've seen something about prelude rotors also.

thanks for the post guys, chris i see that those brake upgrades on that link are pretty sweet, but man, the price is out of range for a work-study college student. you or anybody know of any other cheaper brake kits? thanks

you can use the setups he sells for a guideline.all his kits that use OEM parts tell what car they come from...you can go to a local auto parts store and buy the cheap rotors and reman'd calipers and save some money..but keep in mind many of the kits require redrilling the calipers from a bigger/different lug pattern and some kind of caliper adapter plate.these two things, especially the adapter are going to be a big part of the cost...
i didn't see in your post what trim level your car is....but a good cost-efficient upgrade is the 10.2" integra/civic EX upgrade with good pads..this should provide all the braking power that you can use on the street, and more than 99% of people can use on the track.

no need to go any bigger man...

from my thread...

Edit- for those wondering, I do NOT have ABS

Well, I did this awhile ago, but never had pics taken cause I don't have a digi cam right now.

Here's the setup

GSR spindle/fork with H&R extended lugs
1/8th inch prestige wheel spacers
ITR rotors redrilled to 4x100
Prelude VTEC calipers- same as ITR/Accord, etc
H&R 1/4 inch wheel spacers
EG6 15/16th master cylinder.

Most parts were free, so don't ask for total cost. I'll tell you it was very cheap though...cheaper than new pads and rotors for my stock setup.

The Prelude calipers bolt right up to the GSR spindle....but the offset of the caliper is different, causing the rotor and caliper to hit each other. This is where I used the 1/8th spacer....between hub and rotor.

The ITR rotors were actually off my friends car (www.c-speedracing.com project Integra). These are what....like 11 inches or so...VERY large compared to my stockies ( don;t have ABS).

Then, to clear the caliper, I used the H&R wheel spacers. This also gave me a much wider track up front and just the handling felt a lot better. I used a 15/16ths MC for better pressure, and that was that. Same stopping power as a 5 lug setup, without the cost. WELL worth it IMO....a LOT better than stock. I throw people into the windshield when I stomp on the brakes. I can late brake safely now too ( track only of course).

Here's some pics....(bored aftwr work )

I would suggest an OEM setup like this anyday. Most parts can be found for very cheap

are your wheels 45mm offset?i would think that setup should clear the 35mm offset versions no problem.

they're 43 offset I believe...whatever offset Spoons came in 4x100 in 15's.

35 offset will clear no problem. This brake setup clears TE37's without spacers also

true,

I'm going back to a GSR brake setup with better pads. Run my 14 inch wheels and stopping power might decrease a little...but that's OKAY, cause these lock up very easy if I'm not careful

im in the process of going bigger. I bought 96 ITR sus and wheels with almost new tires for 700. i had the backs spun to make sure the were in good shape. for the front unfortantly they were beyond repair which i was not upset about because after all this stuff was used. so i went and bought brembo cross drilled rotors for a 92 vtec prelude (same size as 97 ITR, and the 94 Accord V6 11.1 inchs) got these for 115 each. then purchased ITR calipers (same as 92 vtec prelude and 94 V6 accord). and with the return of my old calipers the ITR ons were 50 each (stock units). I also purchased the integra RS booster and porportioining (sp) valve which you should do to any upgrade in size. so as far as money goes you would be looking at (115x2)+(50x2)=330 and then the charges for redrilling the rotors to 4x100, and the cost of the booster and the prop valve. but you still don't have rear disk. all in all i spent about 1150 on my brakes but that also included a set of wheels and tires. im happy with the setup still workn on geting every thing on the car been to busy partin
