My Type R Replacement
I missed my R... and having a hard time finding a replacement for it..
but finally made up my mind... must be a Honda, can't be less than a DC2R..
so...
it's a 91 NSX, Black/Ivory 97K miles with full maintenance records.
I will still be in this Forum everynow and then for I love the R so much..
What I think about the NSX vs DC2R:
- It's totally different feeling.. DC2R is definitely easier to drive.(which for me, I can go waay faster in the DC2R and feel confident enough to do so).
- Driving position is much lower in the NSX, the feeling is simply good.Cockpit is relaxing, yet you have total control of everything..(in DC2, the shifter seemed to be a bit too front for me, I have to move my body to reach for it somehow).
- I don't think NSX will be a good autocross car.. I feel the car is long and wide..
so I probably won't take it to autocross.
From my BIAS personal opinion and perspective, I somehow think that the R is still the better car for my purpose(I knew the DC2R by heart, its characteristic, weaknesses, etc) <- meaning that I don't have to learn much about it..
I frankly have to say that I am scared of driving the NSX because I never really have experience with RWD or MR cars before.(not to mention if I screwed up, it's $$ big time).
To be fair, I think I just need more time with it to learn about its character, like the tail wagging, tires peeling, etc..
But I sense that I won't have that much time to play with it..(sigh)..
priorities in life changes, Car comes 2nd or 3rd place now..
anyway.. Anyone want an NSX? LOL
oh.. almost forget the Picture..hehe.. H-Tech-ers love pictures...rite?

Just like any new car you'll have to learn how to drive it at the edge like you did with the R. But like the R, you didn't know the limits until after you drove it a while. Just think of it as a new project to learn and grow with. Once you learn to properly drive this car you'll love it like you did the R. I do hear the *** is a little squirmy if you're not too careful. My buddy spun out and wrecked the rear on his NSX at a track event. But that's because some *** in a Viper dropped coolant on the track at a turn!
BTW, clean *** car!

Nice car! Exactly what I've been considering a little. A black 91-93 with newer NSX wheels. Very nice.
How much lower is the nose of it vs the ITR? One of my concerns is getting it up my driveway where my R barley makes it.
I guess you know about nsxprime.com

sweet, nice step up. it'll get easier for you to drive, just takes time, toatally different set up, but a nice one!
maintaining it is a bit expensive, but other then that it's awsome. the whole motor needs to come out for a timing belt swap

Congrats man, so sweeet!
I've been pondering on this myself in the past weeks and soooo tempted to sell my boosted R for the NSX. I know I'll will miss the boost along with all the other pluses that makes the R for what it is if I sell it. I think I'll just have to keep this and save up for the NSX...one day..At least then I can have the best of both worlds, FWD and RWD!!
