what do you guys think? is the head or block rebuildable or is this stuff just scrap now?

motor overreved died. then was restarted and blew alot of white smoke then it gave up.

so the head is no good and the block can be rebuilt?

no, that motor is gone. Scrap it and get a new one

yes its still rebuildable. i get those things done all the time. the block needs to be sleeved complete close deck though.i wouldnt use it for and race motor i would fix it and sell that ****

the head is repairable, contact Nick at VT Compition Engine Devlopement... the dude that built the Honda Tuning's 700hp B-Series, i'll fine his card and give you the number, oh BTW he's in cali untill next week

I honestly can not see how you could fix that head. The block maybe, but not the head.

ok i talked to him and he said from the looks of my block it would no be worth re-sleeving.

"I think you are history on that block. For a good sleeve install, you need good aluminum at the bottom of the block. The cost to weld up that area would be more than buying a new core. Sorry." -Earl

im confused. are you saying that you showed the pic of my head to your friend and he said it was NFG? and what do you wish you had a pic of?

damn sorry that happened to you bro..the head is rebuildable.. so is the block.. but the money your gonna spend to fix the block is not worth it if the crank is fuked up or a hole in the block, fuked up oil pump etc.... if its just the cylinder walls, you have an option to go 84mm resleeved.. but yeh same thing happened to me with my b16a.. dropped a valve in my cylinder and it blew up the engine.. cost me less than $400 to fix my head at my local machine shop..took about 1 week and a half to fix.. using the same head for my ls/v and no problems at all

well i already have a b16 that i threw in for now. im just tryin to see if i can salvage something. if anything is worth rebuilding i would like to do that otherwise ill just junk it.
