Question for JIC FLT-A2 Owners

I know there are lots of posts about "is the FLT-A2 setup good?" or "How do the FLT-A2s compare to this..." etc., and to make it clear, I'm not asking if they're a worthy setup. That being said, onto the actual question. I've been considering getting the FLTs for awhile now, at first through the GB, and then I ran out of money, and with Christmas being over, I'm sort of back in the game. Now I have a friend telling me they blow out after 2000 miles of use, and JIC USA is crap with getting them rebuilt, and certainly won't do it for free. So the question is, owners who've had it for more than 2K miles, have you experienced anything like this? I'm wondering if this guy heard something incorrect, or if I should just save my money for some Zeals or something.

Heh heh heh, thanks, I'll keep those in mind if I decide to go with Zeals. By the way, 10K/6K? Seems a little unbalanced.
had them for 6k (give or take) on my Si. then i got stolen
i loved them though.
best set of coilovers i've drive/riden in.
never had a single problem and i didn't baby em ither.
in the 6 k miles they went through 2 track events and a # of potholes

Dunno about DC2s but I've heard similar things about DC5 units (friend of mine had a hell of a time). I think he got it finally worked out with JIC USA and it seems to be holding up.
But this is all second hand information. *shrug*

Comments on Service Life:
I can account for a set of JIC FLT-A2's that were driven on probably more than 8k miles over the summer and fall. All street driving, but definitely not *****-footing around....not to mention all the railroad crossings we have. Those are murder with my Tein RE's.
Comments on the service:
We've had JIC take forever on a set of JIC FLT-A2's....something like 3 months+ before they could get them to us (or maybe that was the distributor's fault?). However, according to the distributor, the reason it took so long was b/c JIC was unable to get a pair of ITR rear lower shock bodies to the distributor....which is true b/c he sent the coilovers first and then we got the rear lower perches a few days later.
That left a pretty bad taste, so I'd hate to have to send them in for any kind of service for fear that we'd never get them back.
