Crower cam ID which do i have? (LS)
I just purchased some Crower cams, i was told they were LS camshafts and that they were 403's, now im starting to doubt it because no where on the Cam's do they say "403". One cam does say crower, well it says "rower" not the whole word, on the ends of the cams one says "L28646" and the other cam says "E28646", the camshaft with the L on the end also has a MV and a Z or a N in between the cam profile. The E cam has an E stamped in between the cam profile. I know they are not stock becasue of the crower markings and because they have alot larger cam profile and the lobes are a bit differnt in design, so any one know what camshafts i have? thanks in advance for any input...oh and i did contact Crower i got no where the numbers are different then those provided on the site, and i emailed them and i havent gotten a response yet, so anyone got an idea?

take pictures of the distributor side of the cams. not the side of where the cam gears go but the other side.
right on the ends the grind part number should be engraved into it.

e-mail me at lodoss@cavtel.net and i'll let you know if they are 403's are not cause i got a pair sitting in my room at my house. I'll look at the number when i get off of work.
I doubt they guy lied to you cause clearly it is made by crower and if it is made by crower there is no reason why he would tell u 403's if they were 401's cause price wise they are essentailly the same.

those pics suck.........hehe........find a better digital camera.
the first pic is the one i want to see clearly. there should be gring part number engraved on those ends.
i should mention that crower did re-grind stock cores before they came out with new solid cores a few years ago. so those may be crower cams but they could possibly be one of their original re-grind versions.
hope this helps

well on price im not sure im not set opne one, i would rather trade them for something i need, or i will sell at a good offer..and ya the guy at crower told me that they were almost worthless for a street setup...just DRAG or some one with a crazy street car..
for some reason i thought .502 lift was max.
anyway these crower 405a's i have sitting here are
.280/.478
.274/.469
anyway those cams might have some clearance issues in the head/ and will definately require upgraded valvetrain/ and some sort of ecu mod, SAFC, better yet, hondata.
