Default H22 Intake Manifolds? Venom one I got suxxors

Are there any quality cast aftermarket intake manifolds available for the H22?

I currently have a Venom that I planned on using, but its a real POS and I would prefer something of higher quality. I only bought this because it was all I could find, and to date its still all I can find. I am trying to avoid having to make ourselve one.

BTW I dont like the venom one because it has very poor quality manufacturing. The manifold flange bolt pattern doesnt match the head, and I have to either oversize the holes or pound it on, the port matching between the runners and the flange are a joke, the TB cannot be bolted up because the spacing on the TB mounting points are way off and only 2 line up, there is no provision for an idle valve to be mounted, and the angle they expect me to mount the TB at makes it so I would have to switch to a GSR throttle cable or something else that comes around for the passenger side.. All in all, its nothing but a polished bling bling POS and I would hate to have to run it, but I surely cannot use stock.

Does no one make a nice intake manifold for this engine? someone rescue me, please.

Anyone?

do you have the old venom or the new.i have the new venom design"rounded back not square"it fit perfect.i also have the str one two.i myslef think the str is way better quality.i have a h22 turbo with the venom, but as soon as i get the gremlins out,i am going to put this set up in a 93 hatch and use the str and sell the venom.

i herd they won't be racing in 2004,at least thats what urban racer says.i don't like the back half of the venom man.because you cain't put your sensors on it like you can the str or golden eagle.

what are the times on your h22 crx.

we have put the Venom one on our race car for street class. We didn't use the idle air control valve on ours, but your right, there is no freaking holes for it. No place to put a throttle cable bracket for it either. We made a custom bracket that bolts to where the MAP sensor would go normally. We are using a 3 bar map sensor so that spot wasn't being used. It did bolt up just fine though. Good luck on your search.

mister2racer, is your name Charlie?

the only thing I dont like about that manifold is that it looks as if it uses the stock plenum still????

I have an STR and love it, looks good, fits good, performs good!!!!

1700anddropping: I have the newer round one from Venom.

Thanks everyone for the help. I am considering the new options you guys have presented. For some reason I figured the GE and STR and Venom were all made at the same place just cause when I initially looked I thought they all looked the same. I guess i was wrong.

I will be considering between the STR, GE, and JGE. I want to look at price and I really am curious what is on the inside of the plenums, but that might be hard to find out. I mean such as velocity stacks or anything.

Another problem I am now presented with is that I have this Venom manifold and I cant really do anything with it. Perhaps Venom would let me exchange it for a bunch of fuel rails.

BadCRX: Yes my name is Charlie/Charles. Have we met?

that Wilson manifold is just too ****** sweet, take it away my teeth are hurting. If anybody builds the ultimate intake it's Wilson all the top WC teams use him.I'm afraid to ask what it costs,a WC mani cost over$1600 to start.
