why did you guys ended up driving a 4th gen?
lets hear the stories and reasons why and how all of 4th gen lude owners ended up buying a 4th gen instead of a gsr, itr , or other cars like turbo cars ?
there was a time i did not know anything bout cars. i mean nothing. i was 18 and i went to buy my first car w/ my dad. of all the cars there the milano red caught my eye. it was just meant to be LOL.
Well back in 94 I originally wanted a Civic coupe but I wasn't too impressed with the power. Then I started looking at the GS-R but everyone and there mom had one. So I test drove a Prelude VTEC and fell in love. We've been together since July 4, 1994.
I test drove a 99 Si Civic when they first came out. The guy wouldn't give me the deal I wanted and just happened to dive by a used Red Prelude in another dealer used lot with about 60k. Drove it around and beat the hell out of it. The rest is history.
I've actually owned 5 Civics. 2 CRXs and 2 Integras, my last car being a 95 LS. After I sold it, I came across a 93 Prelude VTEC for a good deal and decided to try something different. The H22 motor kicks ***!

Originally just wanted a 4dr Civic Auto. Right after I turned 16 my Dad called and told me to go look at a car on the corner by a local HS. Went and checked out a white 92 Si, was good enough for me so I bought it. I've grown to like it more and more ever since.
I owned an 87 si, and one day drove past the milano red baby. Never thought that it could have been vtec, for they are hard to find. Come to find out, it was, next day I was down there filling out the paperwork.

i drove past mine at a car lot every day for about 3 months. i noticed it but wasn't particularly interested in selling my integra. well one day on base some idiot decided to pull out in front of me. it was fairly minor damage, covered under insurance.
while i had the rental car i decided to just see what model prelude it was. I stopped (late at night), checked the interior saw it was a 5spd, surprisingly enough the hood was unlatched so i popped it to find the h22. i left a note to inquire about the price, he returned the call to inform me it was 5k, with 100k miles. checked kbb and that price was 2k under blue book value. So i decided to test drive it and that was all she wrote. i purchased the car 2 days later and sold the teg.

I had a 94 Civic Dx. It was the Slowness. But i sold it for $3,500 because i never really drove it anymore, carpooled with my sister.
Then my sister-in-law purchased a new BMW and sold me her old Prelude SE for $3,500
Completely stock, but then i started adding a thing or two. One thing lead to another and my sister-in-law still doesnt believe it used to be her car

Well, I use to have a 91 civic Si and i loved that car. Then i when to an auto show back when the 94 Vtec's came out and i fell in love. Six months later i bought a red 94 vtec. I had that car for 2 years before my girl friend totaled it. After that i had to get another but i couldn't find a vtec so i got my silver 92. I love the 4th gens.
well my pos that i had b4 was dun sun,
working at a dealership i was checking out the wholesale cars
they had, almost bought a civic for 3500. They ended up selling that
and the next week they had a 92 si, the used car manager didn't know
much about ludes and wanted 2100 4 it
so i jumped on it
like a jack rabbit on a date, been in love w/em ever since

Always liked the look and knew nothing about cars. Thought the front end dived down to abruptly and it needed a lip or something.
Then I saw a VTEC model that looked like this (minus the JDMs..)

With the WW RS front lip...I had to have it!
Then the guy took me for a ride and showed me VTEC...I was like well that's pretty coool...
and I've be building and rebuilding H22as ever since haha

Ever since high school I've been into car stereo. A buddy of mine had a civic hatch and we thought it was the baddest thing since michael jackson's thriller. Then I came across this picture when I was a freshmen in college:
I had to have a prelude. Keep in mind 4-5 years ago big *** body kits and hooked up honda's were not a dime a dozen like they are today. So when I told everybody I was gonna get a prelude with this that and that everybody shook their heads in doubt. So a buddy of mine had a friend selling a prelude and it was the perfect car. Then 3 months later after I got the car I was stuntin' around with my big *** body kit, ice lights, huge *** double decker wing, and enkei katana rims. Not to sound like a ricer, but I would drive around town and people would seriously come to a stop because they thought I was driving a ferrari or some ****. Little did they know it was a slow *** honda. This happened to my friend that got the same erebuni shogun kit on his 240sx with crazy *** house of the rising sun graphics. Like I said, this stuff was all done before the 'ricer age' came into existence.
Sooner or later I decided I wanted to go faster so long story short: I learned how to build motors. That was a big step considering I didn't even know how to change the oil when I first got the car
Now you know my life story, yay.

i wanted to get a z28 or mustang gt but my dad reasoned that the insurance was going to be too high(which it isn't as i now know...) and that i need to get a honda or something. i gave up and started looking at the civic si and took one for a test drive, it was okay but i wasn't thrilled about it. then i went to a car auction with my granddad and test drove a '94 vtec. i liked it but the interior of that car was disgusting so i passed on that one. then i found a '92 prelude si at a local car dealer. i took it for a test drive and liked it, so i bought it the next day.
then i got into modding after riding in my uncle's modded q45 which was lowered, bilstein shocks, intake, custom exhaust, n2o, and ecu. at first i paid a shop to install my new ss brakes lines but realized i could do everything myself if i just bought the tools instead of paying a shop to do the work. now my parent's garage is full of my stuff.
now i just need to finish up school and build my own shop.

Bought my first car at 19. 1997 Honda Accord Auto. Needed something cheap for insurance. Had it for about 6 months and said it was time to buy a car that was stick. Don't know what I was thinking but traded the car in for a 97 Mitsu Eclipse. Had the car for 2 months and couldn't hack it know more.
Traded that in for a 96 Honda Prelude S. Car was fully loaded with 6 cd-changer and in dash phone and had rims. LOVED this car. Had it for about six months and loved everything about it except one thing. Prelude S meant slow(nothing against people who own an S).
Learned about VTEC and traded in the prelude
for a 97 GSR. Had the car for around a year and liked the car. It was plenty faster than the lude. But the lude was still in the back of my mind. Got one ticket and my insurance jumped an extra $400 every six months.
I had lightly modified the GSR so I did my research on preludes and found a 94 SI/4WS and have never thought about another car. It was owned by a female that really didn't take car of it but I wasn't worried because I had plans to swap a VTEC into it and the rest is history.

my first car was a 74 Super Beetle....i spent month rebuilding that motor ...then about 8 month of driving that it broke then i was stuck with the Honda 87 aero Moped .....one day the mum said its time to get me a real car..first i was lookin at CRX and didn't find any then i spotted my 93 prelude Si AT and fell in love she said i could have it....then i got it....i guess i regret getting a auto but hay look wat i went from plus it will all be fixed in due time....but im in love with my prelude and plan to own it for a very long time
i bought mines so i could have the fastest car in my high shool parking lot, later days b18!! (everyone had civics and tegs, never seen a prelude before) I looked at older supras(3rd gen) and even some vr4's, i hated the way the talons looked so it was my only choice in the 5-6 k area with that was less then 10 years old and nothing too far over 100k miles.
After 4 months i found my black 4thgen, 122,000 miles for $5200 (back in 2000). Bone stock, single owner, being only 17 i had to settle for non-vtec as insurance on the h22 was more then the car at the time

Nice Gude, my story is very similar.
I went from a 73 Superbeetle to a 67 Chevelle, and my parents wanted me in a good safe, RELIABLE car.....so they told me to choose one, preferably a Honda.
Everyone around here was ricers (as was I at the time), and I wanted a car that was unique. I saw a slammed Prelude on 18's at a Chinese restaurant, and knew that was gonna be my next car.
Went home, hopped on Autotrader, found a 92 w/ a lot of stereo goodies for a great deal, bought it, "hopped it up" (neons, 18's), got it stolen and stripped, got sick of being stolen from, learned how to build motors, and now i'm halfway through my H23 VTEC w/ spray project.
Still gonna be flossin a body kit though.....(hehe, when you have no bumpers and can get a full decent kit for $75, the cost justifies the ricerness!)
