Magnaflow universal muffler?
I want to quiet down my exhaust and was thinking about a universal strait through magnaflow muffler. anyone know any cons to think muffler. or any praise? will it be quiet? any info will help, thanks
dunno bout the straight-through but i have a stock-looking performance magnaflow exhaust and it works great...almost greddy like in amount of sound (though nothing like a greddy in terms of tone)

all magnaflow mufflers have a strait through design. nothing in the way just strait through with sound dampening materials around it. what you have is what i was thinking of getting, make it look stock but have good performance and not so loud. my exhaust currently is LOUD, my dad drove my car last night and said it actually hurt his hearing. and he thinks its going to make me deaf (cant spell)
Ive heard good things about the Magnoflow mufflers, i dunno if id go with one of the shiney bling bling ones because of cop harrassment (and in maine they wont inpsect your car with one
) So i just got a flowmaster 60 series muffler and it sounds and performs awesome, and it looks stock!

dont forget resonator is a big factor as well. pair a decent length resonator and you will have a relatively quiet straight through design though not as quiet as chambered.
I have a magnaflow 2 1/2 single inlet with a dual 2 1/4 out and a 24" resonator with 2 1/4 mandrel piping and it sound pretty good. not to loud but not as nice as a greddy. Hope this helps.

Not exactly. They do make chambered versions.
The muffler in the picture doesn't look like a Magnaflow performance straight through or the XL chambered versions. Both of these mufflers have a welded seam where the one in the picture looks like a stamped seam but I could be seeing things also.

I don't know about you guys, but I've got a pretty quiet muffler. It's probably a Pacesetter, but it's the actual motor that creates my cabin noise. But who cares b/c it sounds good right.
My poor friend made a unwise decision in my opinion and bought a #1 catback for his 2000 ls integra. Kiss that nice sound quality goodbye. Its so freakin loud. I told him to go custom, but he got a big check and just bought whatever the people said was good.
He made a classic riceboy decision. Oh well.
