Default Need Help Choosing Tires

ok, first things first.

for chirstmas my dad is gonna help pay toward a new set of tires for me. (1/2) but they gotta be from costco tire (basicly bridgestone potenzas and michilin only) i've got absolutly no complaints about that.

i need a tire that is all season (wa weather), and is good for autoXing.

my current bridgestone re920's lasted pretty long (bout two years) and that was with about 4 autoXing and constant aggressive driving.

right now they're almost bald and i need new ones...

the only thing i want to look at most was that after this last AutoX i went to the sidewall would i guess you would say "roll over" and the "edge" looks like it went through a cheese grater.

i'm looking into these tires:
RE950
RE910
S-03

anybody care to give an oppinion or experience?

also, would it be wise to invest in a 2nd set of wheels just for AutoXing (mostly for tire life)? or should i be ok? (it's hard to be a senior in high school...no $)

RE950s are a great choice if you need some light snow traction and it probably has the best dry performance in it's category for an all-season tire.

S0-3s, well those are just totally badass tires, but not intended for any use in the snow.

also check out tirerack.com reviews

RE92s suck, lude and WRX owners hate them so RE950s should be a huge improvement

The europenan M3 CSL come with slick stock, you have to sign a paper saying that you understand the tire will not grip anything on snow, rain, or not properlly warmed up

i recomend the S-03, but definantly NOT in snow.

I put them on my Dads Vette and they are awesome, til i got caught in snow once. It wasnt pretty.

Not all M3's come with the Pilot Sports. They are good summer tires, but not for snow as already said. Problem is they're also expensive.

My personal opinion is that it would be wise to have different tires for the track and the street. You will get better track performance out of some good summer tires or racing tires as long as you take proper care of them and warm them up properly before racing.

And of course you'll get better winter performance out of some good all-seasons.

For cheaper track tires, I'd look into the Falken Azenis as stated (not sure who carries them) or some Yokohama AVS-ES100's (TireRack has them). I've got the Yokos on my Accord (paid < $400 for tires+install) and they're pretty decent for a summer tire. Stiffer sidewalls and much better grip than the stock Michelin MXV-4's (I hated those things....POS!).
