Default What gauges do you use?

I was wondering what gauges people have in their car and if they use the mechanical or electric ones. Which do you like best.

use no gauges if you dont know what you need them for.....

otherwise it depends on your setup

I never said I don't know what they are for, just would like to see what other people use and if they like the electric or the mechanical ones.

I would use an electrical oil pressure gauge. I once had a mechanical one in my turbo Civic and the oil line (to the back of the gauge face) came loose somehow. Oil squirted everywhere

I'm currently using mech. oil and fuel pressure. What's a good electric gauge, I like to see my fuel press. from inside the car.

I use the "check engine light" to inform me of anything that goes wrong. Other than that, just the stock cluster.

does anyone have a good site that shows how and where to install the sensors and how they wired their gauges. I have a water temp, EGT, Oil Pressure and temp gauges from omori and the directions are in japanese. If anyone has a link to pictures or how-to that would be great.

i think with the heat blasting for 2hrs, you would sufficate before the wires start to melt, plus i think the highest temp the heat can get to is like 90 degrees, which still isn't enough to melt..
