Default frame sliders

what do i need to do to get frame sliders on my 99 F4? looks like i would need to modify the faring to make them work, should i bring it to a dealer to have this done? also what do you guys do to winterize/store your bikes, i dont think im gonna have much decent riding weather untill next spring.

You can do the drilling of the fairing by yourself, unless you're not mechanically inclined in ANY way (meaning, you don't know a Phillips from a flathead).

Sorry, I don't know about the winterizing part...we ride all year-round in SoCal.

Don't know about frame sliders, except that it's better to not lay it down in the first place

For winterization, the minimum you should do is get some Stabil and put it in your tank and run the bike for about 10 minutes. Pull the battery and put it on a Battery Tender and change the oil.

Some people like to put there bikes on stands but I don't think that's necessary.

Cheers,
Roy

For winterization, I'd put in some fuel stabilizer, change fluids, pull the battery, plug up both intake and exhaust and if you can, get the tires off the cold concrete. This way you don't flat spot your tires for the next season. I wish I could ride all year round but I'm lucky if I can even get half a year.

If I had a camera I would take a picture of the lump of white snow that was my car last night. Getting my bike rolling in 8" of slushy wet snow on Metzeler MEZ4's would be a risk I don't think I could walk away from, lol.

I wish I lived in a 365 day riding season, but once the snow falls I am helpless on my sporbike. Clearly I need a dual sport with some sweet snow tires

Cheers,
Roy

Maybe we should sticky a winterizing thread for the season. I know I've gone through it in detail in the past

Great idea, I know I'd be looking for it.
