my gsr shut off while driving
on my way to school today i was accelerating from about 40mph in 4th gear and while i was accelerating all of a sudden my rpms went up and car didn't accelerate almost as if the clutch was slipping but i had also noticed at the same time my headunit shut off too (all this happening in like half a second) and then car rpms went back to normal , car started accelerating again, and cd started playing again. i look at my dash and the abs light came on but then shut off after some time. this was not the first time this happend. it happend a couple other times while i was driving the day before but just hadn't taken it seriously till today. what could be wrong with my car? 95gsr
Alright, here's my analysis...
Check to make sure the distributor plugs are in all the way, and that the belt's super tight.
But i'm thinkin that your battery terminals are loose. Mine were and did the same ****

happend to me before. terminals were nice and tight, but the ground wire corroded (sp?) off at the connecter. just bought a new ground wire from autozone.

The battery doesnt have anything to do with powering the electrical system when the car is running, so the terminals or a weak battery would be at fault. I would check the alternator, maybe a fuse even, who knows.
That happened to me recently... Was the battery for me... Of course it was the STOCK battery and its a 97... and im in AZ so the battery held up pretty well i'd say
Yea i bet its either your battery or the terminal connectors..
My head unit was skippin n goin on and off... and whever i turned my lights on, LOL revs got all crazy for a second...
Be sure to check to see if your alternator is giving good output...
