What are the best mounts to use for B16 in 88-91 CRX?
I have had a B16 in my CRX for a few years now and I go through axles like crazy. The kit I have now is a real old HCP kit I believe and when replacing axles I have to shorten one of them and weld it back together. This is a PITA. I want to upgrade to a new mount kit that will be easy on axles and not require special fabrication whenever ones goes bad. I know in the last three years something better has come along. I know with some mount kits you can use 90-91 integra axles but I am not certain which one it is. I have been looking at hasport and placeracing kits which would probably require a new shift linkage as well. What would be the best solution to get rid of axle vibration and premature failure? Please let me know.
i'm using hasport motor mounts, hasport shift linkage and placeracing axles. No vibration for me.... i guess you can try, but it's gonna cost a little
Well I know the new HCP kit is nice. Hybrid Honda's hatch was swappeed with them, and everything dropped in smoov as butta....axles line up straighter than with the Hasport kit too. HCP gets a
from me, and they are actually affordable. Hood closes too.

Straighter than which Hasport kit? The new billets are the best setup I have seen so far. Drops in 100x smoother than old Hasport designs. I am not quite happy with the bling factor but I guess I will get over that and they get my vote.
Older generations of Hasport as well as the design Place copied from Hasport early on are autrocious for axles, hood rubbing, have to dent the front crossmember just to use a stock cast B-manifold.

Yes I mean the new billet kit....HCP's own the billet kit as far engine placement(hood closes) and axle fitment. This is on vehicles with straight frames. Flame away!

I have no experience with the Place Racing kit. I'm just defending the HCP to Hasport thing.

No prob, the place kit was the earliest design they made/copied off of Hasport, B18A1 rubbed hood going into a 1991 CRX DX, stock cast manifold wanted to make love with the front crossmember. You've got to realize they change the designs and improve as the years go on. I have no experience with the newer place styles. I should have kept them around just to look at instead of installing in a customers car.

Damn right, HCP are good mounts, hood closes, 90 teg axles work and they only cost $225!

Just an idea..
How about contacting HCP directly...Maybe they could give you a GOOD deal for being one of their first customers.... Maybe you could sweet talk them into
"upgrading" you for F R E E.

Get the Hasport. They only have 3 mounts in a kit, they are the BEST quality, and they are selling hydro conversion kits to convert their mounting systems to be hydro compatible.

2 kits, 1 offers all four mounts, second kit eliminates the x-member mount but includes the driver's side mount in billet.

dont know why people are so bent on having all four mounts......you really dont need them. My 89 integra has only 3 mounts, and that B16 doesnt move one bit. I know the Hatches etc....came with 3 mounts but it isnt required.
Azracemachine.com mounts sure are nice. I hear people saying they copied Hasport but i dont care, they look and work just as good. Lifetime warranty of course and they come with all hardware and instructions. Combine their mounts with their shift linkage and u will love it. My shifter is placed in the OEM stock location at the center console, just like it was with the SOHC.
