Just in case anyone is curious...

I did NOT use a mounting kit. I just put the tray in, then put the cage in, extended the tabs and slid the deck in. Real easy and its nice and secure.

Niiiiice...I'm planning on an mp3 deck myself, any reasons why I should get a kenwood myself?
Does the sound quality improve when only the deck is changed?
And one last question, what the heck is that red bulb between the emergency switch and defroster button on top? Alarm?

How the heck do I know what is better? I guess more dough = better?
But dammmmn...400 bucks for a deck is a little too much.
Perhaps I should consider selling my organs...hehe jk.

Stupid question....
How many cds does that deck hold. I was in my friends s2000 and he had the same unit.
But I swear I saw images for 6 cds. Is there an internal or external changer?
And if it is external is it a special reader or does the head unit do the work?
Thanks

It plays the same as the 828, it just doesn't have all the graphics and all the pre-outs. The only thing I don't like about that deck is that I have to wait a while for the next mP3 to play. I wish I had purchased the Sony(choking) which between all the MP3 players is the quickest.

yeah, a friend of mine has the sony deck and it doesn't scroll id3 tags or the file name if it is too long to fit on the display.
One thing about the kenwood i have noticed recently is that the liquid crystal display doesn't like the cold weather very much. until the unit heats up, the letters take a while to fade when scrolling the text so everything seems to blur together.

It would be cool to see a pic of that deck mounted below the factory head unit. it would look so stealth. Kenwood has a $20 mail in rebate for that deck.
