ive heard people painted over carbon fiber wit a clearcoat with color in it. anyone know anything on this or anything on painted carbon fiber wit out looseing the look of it. now i know there is color carbon out there but im talking about clear coating wit a color. and does anyone have pics of this done.

 

No such thing as colored carbon, I think.. its Kevlar.. anyhoot... use thin coats of paint/clearcoat if you wanna have "colored carbon"

 

ya i meant the to say the kevlar in the carbonfiber weave. but ya thats what i heard to do is there anyone that has a pic of this done ?

so just thing coat of paint and clear, and thats all it takes?

ABS Dynamics makes CF in Red and Silver

and ive seen other companies make CF in yellow (kevlar), Blue, and Orange


one of my favorite cars, this thing is a HUGE sleeper...carbon fiber hood painted to match the stock color (Rio Red)

 

My friends evo has carbon fenders and hood sprayed with a yellow pearl clear it looks ok... makes the carbon not stand out as much... but yes it can be done

 

try any candy paint. Candy paints are translucent if you use it sparingly.
