clicking noise in tranny.
first off: NO, this is not a CV boot or joint...
.....ok, there is a clicking noise in my tranny, it gets faster with the tranny speed and slows when i switch gears and then speeds up as i accelerate in that gear and declerates and vice versa, it is loudest at idle and 1st and 2nd gears. at idle if i hear the noise, i can push the clutch pedal in and the noise goes away quickly but gradually quickly...not all at once. i can only describe it as a clicking noise even though it almost sounds almost like gear teeth hitting each other louder than normal....should I drain tranny fluid and replace it to see if it goes away? are my synchros gone? is my diff. messed up? i dont know as much as I'd like to about trannies and I am certainly not good at diagnosing the problem...if anyone has any insight as to what this could be, and if anyone has had repairs any info would be great...and how much the repairs would be? (i have a warranty on my car, its a 95 GSR with 58,013 miles on it.....clutch was replaced less than 10,000 miles ago by an acura dealership)
thanks in advance guys.

take it to the dealer right away before your warranty is up. I hope your car isn't heavily modded cause the service advisor or manager will say you been racing it and they won't cover it..
Clicking to me is usually cv joints. Grinding sound is usually synchros.
To me it almost sounds like flywheel or something since it gets lounder when you accelerate and you hear it at idle.

I know its not cv joints because it makes the clicking noise when the car is stopped and idling.....I am going to take it in asap...flywheel sounds like it might be it...dont know though.

I was gonna say its the throwout bearing, but I guess that would have been wrong.
Might as well change the countershaft bearing and the diff seals as well since the tranny case will be open.
And now's the time to get that LSD you've always wanted.

it wasnt the throwout bearing unless that is the same thing as a "main shaft bearing"...i dunno, i hate trannies
i bought a GSR tranny from a 97 with 32k on it and just dropped that in. (my synchros were messed up along with 3rd gear itself)
