is it the computer or does it have its own box?

 

The ECU controls all functions of the car, think of it as the brain.

 

Maintenance light is it's own thing.

CEL (check engine) is ECU dependent.

To reset the maint. light (it's just a dummy light...timed for about every 3k miles) reach under the driver-side dash. in-line with where the gas pedal is there should be a small 4" box with a button facing the gas pedal. turn the car to the "on" position and hold it down until the light goes out.

 

alright thanks i thought since i had a obd1 cpu that the light wouldnt not come on but i guess i was wrong
