Re: Omg Thieves Suck - What Can Be Done (EF-Pimp)
dont recommend pulling ecu cuz then ur gonna have to be waiting five minutes after u start ur car to let it reset . best thing i can tell u is autolock, kill switches , pulling starter fuse, club(even if it slows them down a bit) ,removable steering wheel , **** it jack up ur car and take a wheel off

find out if it was towed or simply hot-wired. ask the owner he will probably know. if it was just hot-wired then i would get a club\autolock combo and pull some fuses maybe even take a trip to radio shack for some kill switch material. That should keep these thieves away. If it was towed, you may just be delaying the inevitable. good luck

simple really - yours is easier to track and sticks out like a sore thumb. Also, they may have wanted just simple transportation. In addition, the corsica may have not had an alarm.

Nothing is a guarentee - the end all be all is that if they want it, they will take it. It's that simple. I will never understand people who put lots of money into a car without a secure place to park it. It's a shame that it has to be that way, but it's the reality of life.
all you can do at this point, is make it very unattractive for a theif to target your car. Make it so that it's more tempting to steal the car next to you rather then your ride.

I want something a good thief wouldnt have on them that I can take out but dont want to carry around something huge with me. I was thinking ecu? How hard is it to pull/install? Looking for anyhting because I dont care if they get a crack at my audio because my alarm is there and we now have a security guard but she isnt always around so if they started my car and stripped it I would be royally fucked. Audio can be replaced. The 100's of hours I put into the body work and paint wont.
Thanks</TD></TR></TABLE>
Pulling the ECU all the time is a PITA. On classic cars we used to pull the coil wire from the ignition system - car is dead without one. Then again, theives carry one around with them.
I think that you should consider adding a more sophisticated alarm with perhaps a pager system.

What i would do is 1. good alarm 2. instal a metal "spacer" below the window so slim jims can not go lower then 3inches or so. 3. Removable stering wheel. 4. A switch consealed under your dash ... some place only you know, that cuts battery power. With that **** your car will be perfectly safe. Good Luck

Umm yeah...and perfectly unsafe when he gets into an accident - removing an air bag from a car as a theft deterrent --- probably the worst advice I've ever read IMHO...

Somebody stole a '92 Corsica? They had to have seen the car before and known it was loaded with equipment, nobody looks at a Corsica and says "man, I want that car real bad and am willing to spend years in jail to make it mine".
And I know a little about Corsicas, my commuter car is an '88 Corsica.

Re: (lost_sol)
BEST TWO MODS...get them done the next weekend you have a chance
1) Relocate hood wire - The stock hoodwire runs underneath the driver fender...one knife and a pull on the wire and up pops the trunk.
instructions can be posted if necessary...(also at team-integra)
2) Manual or automatic fuel cuts - Even if you just connect a relay and a switch to intterupt the fuel system electricals somewhere in the car, its better than nothing and a PITA for anyone breaking in..
Then again, none of this stops someone from just towing the car

You have to be more clever than the thief. Even the best of them cannot start a well protected vehicle. I know, because I have one that they tried to hijack! Kill switches in well hidden places, and start sequences that shut down the computer, or the entire electrical system for about 20 minutes are great!

Re: Omg Thieves Suck - What Can Be Done (EF-Pimp)
you'd need a damn powerful switch or relay to cut the mail power line.
Oh, and I just noticed all the threads posted about how you're a damn scammer. Don't know if it's true or not but you have enough damn ppl talking crap about you... If so, I'm not giving you any advice because I hate ppl that scam

I heard that creating multiple dupe accounts is a good anti-theft device. Maybe you should make another one?
