Default Spoon or Mugen

Ok guys, scenario, you have 15 grand to put into your R, for all around performance, on every level. You have to choose one company too, Spoon or Mugen. Who do you go with, and why?

Just thought this would be an interesting conversation. Fell free to give your opinion and experiences.

Other than valve springs, what internals did Mugen ever sell?

Hmmm, a nice thought exercise.
Suspension: Buddy Clubs or JIC, front and rear Mugen (anti) Sway bars and F/R upper strut tower bars.
Intake: Mugen or Comptech cold air kit.
Wheels and Tires: SSR Comps or Spoon with A032R's (or suitable equivalent).
Engine: Port and Polish head, thinner headgasket, JDM CTR pistons, Toda spec A's or B's
Engine management: Hondata or Apexi Power FC (or equivalent), plus tuning (SGT or P1).
Exhaust: SMSP long primary tube header, Modified cat, and 2 1/2" exhaust.
Brakes: Upgraded pads, fluid, SS brake lines, NSX front caliper swap (or Spoon 4-pots).
Transmission: change-out the FD for JDM or better.

Oh, wait ... all this might take you past the 15K$ mark.
Just find and buy an ITR, pay it off, then worry about this kind of stuff. Ed

This is not an interesting conversation.

Except what Ed said.

Buy the BEST product to suit your NEEDS, regardless of name brand.

Mix and match. Get the parts you need for your particular application.

To answer your question, the only Mugen products I'd consider and semi want for the car is their suspension (N1 or NZ) and their DC2 adjustable wing. The only product from Spoon I would be interested in is the Spoon calipers.

And this is after having various parts from various manufacturers on my car already. I'm upgrading because my particular needs have changed.

OK, well it wasn't really meant to be a topic about best suiting your needs, I asked what company you would go with if you HAD to choose one or the other. I know I would buy wtf ever I wanted or needed, I was mainly looking for opinions.

Anyway, I pretty much give up posting on this board, bout to give up on an ITR too. Later

It doesn't make sense. we all live in the real world, you can dream about 15K in one part or another, but the rest of us talk real, live situations that make the most sense. Bench racing is kinda pointless, especially one company vs another.

What if I asked what suspension should i get if i had UNlimited funds, but then limited my possibilities to spoon and mugen. Jeez, I'd be really cutting myself short, eh?

I certainly hope you don't live your life on the same principles you applied to your explanation of the reasoning behind this thread.

That's not our fault, don't try to throw out off-handed comments that it is somehow our fault. If that's your attitude, go to superhonda. Highly Recommended.

Good bye.

IIRC, there is only one complete Spoon car and one complete Mugen car on this board. The rest of us prefer and will always mix/match. So why bother asking this question, receiving our honest answers and get pissy about it when you don't like our answers?

LOL!
Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer!
What else would you expect?

Bye, bye .... at least someone else will get an ITR and drive it, instead of trying to dress it up like a Barbie doll.

Spoon and Mugen produce only "SOFTCORE" stuff four ITR's. If you want to make real power and spend this money well, try to buy products of other companys that are good and tested in engine mods. If you want to talk about brands - I say Toda.
