look at the vinyl graphic job on this car. im assuming its just vinyl. anyone know where, or who makes vinyl sheets with patterns like this? this is NOT for my car, i would just like to know for other projects, like for helmet graphics. it seems that most sign shops that work with vinyl just cut solid color rolls of vinyl.

please dont comment on the car, im really not interested in anyones opinion on it, and i dont think you guys would be interested in mine either....

 

im pretty sure that is paint/airbrushed not vinyl

a shop in glendale galleria does stickers for MatriX motorsport and bunch of cars. they have 1 color, reflective, printed, glow in the dark, u bring a picture they can scan it. i should know cuz i used to work there. good price too. just tell them Yuki sent ya from minnesota. i miss california

 

Yup DEFINITLY ALL PAINT! I saw a stupid show on spike tv about it. BTW, just my opinion, EXTREMELY GAY looking paint job. I hope that you won't make you car look sooooooo gay....

Must be paint. I deal with vinyl graphics everyday and never seen that
There are things you can get like a vinyl that looks like those diamond metal plate things and also some with a metallic sparkle.

let me be more spcific. I'm actually thinking of attempting to replicate Takuma Sato's F1 helmet design. I'm even gonna show you the best picture i can of it as example for those who are not familiar to Honda's "Risen Star".
now i'm sure that his helmet is hand painted as well. i guess if you guys say the eclipse is also painted, then its a damn good job. but since some of you still care to share your opinions, ill share mine: i dont care for the whole package either.

ok, lets get a bit more specific in my question. just to show you ive done my own research, it seems what might work for me is "printed vinyl graphics" which can make any image and print it on vinyl with adhesive. now, what kind of equipment is needed and how accessible is this stuff? are sign shops able to print whatever graphic i want? or is it still a special thing (read BIG $$$)? anyone in the print industry who has an idea please contribute. im thru with all the dim witted comments. guess i should have expected as little from this forum...

If I were you I would look around the phonebook, try to find a sticker shop and see if they can cut custom decals for you.

 

im finding every local shop i call can just "cut and lay" vinyl. not print graphics. im finding this a bit hard to find. so once/if i find a place that can, id like to also know how relatively expensive the process should be before they quote me a price.

 

maybe you can get your helmet airbrushed from a guy who does low rider truck graphics.

heh, this is actually what im trying to avoid. its expensive. so im trying to see if theres a cheaper alternative.

 

i was reading a ''bio'' on those cars one day and that paint job cost 10k. Engine wise that car was COMPLETELY stock and whatever they did for performance was just for the movie.
