Stripped the rear.. got bored with a scale
So I took the rear interior out of my car, and the weights are as follows. Probably been done a bunch of times but here it is anyway. I took it apart to run the car tommorow @ E-town
Jack/ spare.....29lbs
trunk cover.....2lbs
Rear interior...13.5lbs
seat/seatbelts..32.5lbs
trunk rug.........4.5lbs
tirewell cover..2lbs
rear bar..........2lbs
strut bar.........3.5lbs
front seat.......32lbs
So I got 93.5 lbs out of the car with the front seat still in,125.5 with it out. Not bad considering I am driving around in a sardine can. I was thinking about taking out that bar under the rear seats, but I figured I would leave it in [looks about 30+ lbs though]. AC is still in and power steering belt is off...

Great to know, I too have taken out my rear interior for track purposes, but it has now become a daily thing to keep my friends from asking for a ride.

Isn't the bar under your rear seat for crash purposes? I remember Sport Compact Car gutted their Si for the Si challenge and they took that structural bar out, it does way a crap load, but I think your saftey is reduced, either way..cool post.

I did that, but even that didnt stop them...so i put in a roll bar..after that only 1 guy i knew ever asked to ride in the back...
I still remember the look on the valet guy's face when this 6'1" guy crawled out of my trunk

Good post. I use to love riding around with a stripped interior. First off its lighter, and second its cool being able to hear everything that is going on better. The only thing that became an issue at times was my feet tended to slide around a little too easy with some shoes (carpet was stripped) and I didn't know how much I used my center armrest on long trips until it was removed.
It's also nice to know a basic interior strip can easily counter act the weight of a roll cage.
