i know on a si tranny is has a stamp near the pass side axle that has "pl3/3000". but the tranny that i have has a "pl3/4000". could anyone tell me what tranny this is?

u have an Si tranny
as long as the numbers after the PL3/are numbers it is a Si
if it has some sort of letter and them number A100 or A300 its a DX or STD etc

not necessarily - i have 2 ZC's that say PL3/3000 and 1 ZC that says PL3/9000 - the numbers indicate the large bearings (Si and ZC) and the letter and numbers indicate small bearings (DX, HF, STD & 4 speed) - however, i have had 88 Si that had A000 with small bearings (took it out of one owner CRX with 78000 miles to do ZC swap) and 91 DX 3000 that had large bearings (i bought it thinking it was Si) - that said, it is more than likely a Si

 

thanks guys. i thik is has to be an si. it is in the car now (88 hf). and i was just told the tranny had been changed, he just wasn't sure which tranny it was.
