DSM injector, wiring, and hondata problems/questions!? Yes I searched....
If this turns out to be the wrong injectors I'm going to be very ticked off. This will be the second time its happened (first was with some Prelude 290's). Anyway today was the day to removed my VAFC and install my new hondata setup and DSM 450 injectors.
I got the VAFC out and everything re-wired and soldered. Plugged the stock ECU back up to make sure everything was good...it was. Clipped in my converision harness and my new Hondata equipped P28.
Then on to what I think is the problem. I wired in my new injectors clips and resistors. I put the 10w/10ohm resistors inline with the yellow/black wire. The GM clips wires are both black, but I wired in the right side wire to the resistor/ yellow and black wire of the old injector harness.
Then I got my injector seals, they fit a little snug over the new injectors so I dremeled them out a touch like I have read. I then popped in the new injectors and it didn't seem like they were seating all the way, but really close. I figured once everything was bolted down it would be nice and snug. Then I noticed the end that plugs into the fuel rail was different than the stock injectors. The seal on it was MUCH bigger and in no way would fit inside the hole of the fuel rail. This in turn caused the fuel rail to be pushed back further (because the injectors weren't going inside it) and it would barely bolt on. I got it bolted down part way until it was more than snug. At this point the fuel rail was not snug against its mounts and I wasn't going to force it anymore. I pretty much knew something wasn't right and if this was the right way I sure as heck didn't like it. I attempted to start the car anyway to see what would happen. It would sputter for a bit then just die. I messed with the fuel pressure every way possible and nothing happened.
I just searched a bit and someone said that my injectors should say 450 on them. Well I checked both sides. Each had numbers but none of them had 450 or anything close to it there. There was also a Crysler symbol on each one, not sure if that should be there, but I guess it could be depending on which DSM in came from?
They aren't black or blue, but gray.
They are also a touch shorter than the stock ones. So to sum everything up here are the final questions..
1. DSM injectors should plug into my fuel rail just like the stock injectors correct?
2. They should say 450 on them somewhere?
3. Shouldn't the plastic clip part be either black or blue?
4. Does it sound like my wiring is right?
< Is very ticked and without a running car right now.

search the archives for dsm injectors. i remember reading a post where some one listed the details of the diff injectors.
hondata does not even recomend using dsm injectors. they recomend a rc type injector or siemens. EDIT: even though they dont recomend it, i know it still can be used. it just wont be as simple as the rc's. maybe a tuner can chime in who has experience with these
http://hondata.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=432
call camp1320 for getting some injectors for a good price, he might be out of town though
i know importparts is having a sale on injectors, or call eric @ trackmasters 661 284 6039
edit:
this might help

Thanks for the info.
I talked to SGT about running DSM 450's and thats whay he tuned my base map for. He seemed to have no problem with it.

Well I'm pretty much verfied by pics that i definitely don't have 450cc's. That and a friend of mine has some as well and said they fit into the stock rail fine. I found someone to overnight ship a set to me. Thankfully I don't have class or work on monday and should be good to go (crosses fingers).

If I were you, I would stay away form DSM injectors. We don't exactly think of DSM cars as reliable and I dont' consider their parts to be either.
Using a stock ecu or with a Hondata system, it is recommended not to use DSM injectos.

That's kind of a blanket statement from the hondata guy...
No real explanation? I know plenty of people running the dsm 450's without any problems..... *shrug*

way to bump a thread.. But I've searched.
I have DSM 450s and I just ordered S300. I start reading on the Hondata forum and they basically tell you not to use DSM injectors and the resistor box. I hear RCs suck from other people.
What are your experiences with Hondata and DSM injectors?

There is nothing wrong with injectors from RC, and they have saturated injectors up to 750cc which require no resistor box.
