the head will be fully worked over with toda dual spring valvesprings and toda b's, compression will be raised slightly, and the motor is a jdm itr motor, going into a 00' si, will titanium retainers hold up to fairly regular driving/lots o' track days at gingerman? just curious.
What kind of retainers are optimal what B's and C's, or stage 2/3 cams? I mean - there are sooo many to choose from, and some say stocks are fine, some say they arent.
Portflow, Crower, Ferrea, JUN... what to get?
I'd rather spend 100usd extra on a good set of retainers, rather then having my valvetrain blown to bits by a a cam havin a bad day.

imho, the whole ti retainer breakage thing is more of a h-t urban legend
yes ti retainers can wear more, but if the retainer is designed properly and isnt loosely fit. then there shouldnt be any problems
if you are running toda b's and will be revving pretty high. you will want to check your valve lash every 5k, you might as well get a lil mirror and look at the thickness of the ti retainers.
that way you can tell if one is wearing too thin or not.
or you can look into the ib spec Al. retainers. similar weight saving but less chance of it galling or breaking
if you are running stock valves, then stock retainers usaully will work fine
