Default 11.68 full interior street tires? Record?

Looking for more info on a car I saw this weekend at Englishtown at BFGoodrich Street Wars (street tire bracket racing)

Car Info:
Redish Orange Hatch
Full interior (leathergsr seats, stock panels)
Gsr rims on the back, black 5 spokes on the front
CLM Motorsports stickers on the quarter window

Car was running BFG drag radials (225/50) aired down pretty low, full exhaust
GSR motor and aem, boost only no spray. Thats about all I know

Personally saw the car go 11.68 @ 13x (not sure about the mph but it was up there) Not sure if he got kicked out for not having a cage but didn't see any more runs. He aired up the tires and drove it right out the same as he ran it.

Anyone know this car? For those that were there he was pitted next to the Tuxedo Motorsports crx and the GTR Si.

Is this a record? If not what is the drag radial, full interior record?
Thanks from a noob

EDIT: only cut a 2.07 60ft on the run I saw, so there is some more in the car

Hey Ron... you should change that Jersey's Fastest Street Car thing cause not to bust chops... But streets cars do require exhaust and should be driven on the street atleast once a week.. Plus.. Turbo Lou ran 10.40 @ 138 when he was still a street car that he drove to and from the track...

As to the car.... yup that's Cunha's car...
weighed in at 2518lbs
stock block
went 10.94 @ 128.62mph on friday on slicks

What else you looking to know ..
oh yea he also went 11.62 @ 129 and 11.63 @ 129 yesterday

I don't wnat to open up the what is or isn't a street car battle but this hatch was definitely a street car by anyone's definition. Heck with a lean enough tune the damm thing looked like it would pass NJ Inspection.

By stock block you mean no sleeves but pistons and rods? That kinda power on stock pistons would be pretty sick.

I am just wondering how he runs so well on radials and gets such a heavy car down the strip that quick. Would also like to know what turbo he is running, boost levels, and what sort of exhaust. Going down the road behind it you wouldn't even think the thing was swapped much less boosted it was that quiet.

Was this on a pump/race gas mix?

From just watching it run I expected a gutted car with open downpipe (well a muffler cause it is Etown) and small slicks. When I got a closer look I was even more impressed

That is an impressive time, but I'm pretty sure its not the fastest, though he did have a couple runs to back it up. Cort ran a 11.4 at 4500ft on Nittos, but never did have a chance to back it up..

Track was hooking pretty good yesterday but part of it is he doesn't hit high boost till 3rd gear that and plenty of racing at the track that doesn't have as many rules .
Turbo is a big T3/T4 not sure on the specs... Boost is 18psi hits 19psi at redline.
3in exhaust... pretty sure it's custom.

The car was dynoed and tuned on 93octane made 428whp.... but the last 2 times at track he ran a mix to be on the safe side since that type of power on a stock block + pump gas is scary

I'll post a bunch of videos of it later today

Tim,

Thanks for the info. I was kinda wondering how a car without a cage could have enough track time to hook like that.

So what is done to the motor? Block Guard and a head gasket?

Please post videos if you got em. I am headed to vwsport.com to see if you have any up over there.

For the record, You dont need an exhaust to be a streetcar, so wipe that out of your head..my car is more of a streetcar then Lou's ever will be. Keep up the scrutiny

BIG PROPS TO CUHNA (CLM RACING). His car is a FULL STREET CAR. The car has leather and all lol. Also running that thing on pump gas with a STOCK block is just insane. For the haters, stock block meaning, honda rods, honda pistons and honda block. EVIL DOHC solutes a shot of vodka for that ***.

Not tryting to thread jack here but out here at 5800ft. in elevation I ran a 12.795 @ 121MPH w/ a 2.2 60ft. time in a Pigtegra, 100% full interior, 100% stock suspension, on Falken Azenis on stock wheels. This was only my second pass with this setup, with some patients and some seat time I could easily better the time by several tenths. And I believe altitude plays a factor as well.

There is a post on here somewhere that a member has 10.8x on Nitto's listed in their sig. Maybe I misread it. I'll try and find it later tonight.

Ok well it was in the SEMA thread in the member "PFI pros" sig. Its not there anymore. I would say 11.68 is the record if it was backed up. If not....its still 11.88 from Indy.
