Default Winter Storage - Oil Life

Just wondering what the life span of a fresh Motul 8100 fill up? I have stored the R and I know that oil needs to be changed based on mileage and/or the period of time... I am thinking I might need to drain the oil mid winter....

Instead of changing before, I would change right after you brought it back to life..

Thats not true. You do not want contaminants and water eating away at your engine over 4 months.

lower it and you have an instant snow plow!

oil that is not run up to temperature daily can be kept in an engine 4-6 months...I'd go ahead and change your oil, drive to storage (or whatever), and then change before springtime.

Hm.. never thought of it that way.. well I'd never pack my baby up for storage but if I ever do I'll remember that.

Since you are not running the engine you are just changing the container the oil sits in really.

What about the gas in the car? How long does it take before gas goes bad? Is there a problem about leaving the gas in the car over winter storage or could it be possible the gas will rot the gas tank? I honestly don't know and wondered if anyone else new.

Put some stabilizer in the tank when its nearly empty. Fill it up, all the way up, drive it for few minutes, then park it for storage.
