Default Miata wheels and the Civic

THis is the wheel in question.

Im using these wheels with some Potenza tires for winter and I know you can put my Honda wheels on a Miata but is it allright to put Miata wheels on my Honda?

I kinda went the cheapo stupid route of not having the tires balanced...low fund's right now (gotta love the Holidays) and Im getting a weird shimmy. Different feel than if my tires were out of balance (which I imagine they are) but do I need spacers as well? Will washers work?

Thanks as always guys!

Did you get the centers bored out to fit on the Honda hub? Miata wheels are too small for the Honda hubs by a few mm.

Miata wheels are hubcentric with a smaller bore than a honda. You would need to have the wheel center bored to correctly fit on a honda.

um damn.

Is this something that a tire shop...like Big O can take care of? And I would guess that I shouldn't run this wheel and tire combo one more minute.

Thanks.

youll need to bring the wheels to a machine shop. tire shops dont do these kinds of things. but the miata rims do work well for lightweight 14x6 rims.

I'm not sure about the Civic, but you might also have brake clearance issues. When I tried them on my Integra (after having the centers bored), they hit the brake calipers on the front.

Larry - those wheels were Team Dynamics Wheels - they were talking about stock (OE) miata wheels.

You might want to check your wheel studs for damage danny boy. If you ran unmachined miata wheels on your honda.

Just for the record, the wheels pictured are 14x5.5.

How much does it cost to get balancing done alone? $4-12? I get mounting + balancing for $10/wheel.
