Anyone know the Gear Ratio's for the USDM ITR tranny vs. the JDM ITR tranny. Also the difference between the JDM ITR 96 Spec tranny vs. the 98 spec tranny. Please help!

I have a JDM ITR '98 Spec Tranny in my car. My 3rd gear is grinding. (Came like that with the swap) Can I just change it with a '98 spec USDM 3rd?

 

Most likely your syncro, and not the actual gear.

 

Any idea how much that is?

Since you're taking apart the tranny, I would HIGHLY reccomend swapping USDM ITR 4th ~$100(and if you want 5th)...

 

You saying I should swap the 4th gear too? I just want my 3rd to stop grinding. Only thing I need to replace is the syncro right?

 

Yeah if you just want 3rd to stop grinding...however if you do any highway/drag racing the USDM ITR 4th will help you out a TON. Anyway here are the part #s

If you want USDM ITR 4th:

Gear Mainshaft 4th: 23451-P80-000
Gear CounterShaft 4th: 23481-P80-000

I think that 4th gear switch is the 2nd best mod for the money I ever did
