Whats up with these RSX guys?
It seems that these RSX Type S guys feel like these cars are above the rest. They are nice cars, they aren't ugly. They just have different styling than we are used to. I got to drive one and they are nice and smooth and just keeps going. However, I feel that the current G3 Integra GSRs and ITR are more raw in terms of power. These RSXs are still unproven, and i still think the best is yet to come, hopefully as the RSX-R
Amen, bro!
Just yesterday I was approached by a RSX-S owner... First words from his mouth, not "Hi", "Hello", or "How's the weather?"... Just, "Hey, you have that Type-R?" 'Yes', I replied. He then proceeds to lecture me on how his RSX is a full second faster than mine in the quarter. I let him stake his claim for the moment... We'll meet at an AutoX someday. After all proof is in the pudding.

this is funny you posted this. Considering this is the same attitude I get when i am in my civic and try to talk to SOME itr owners. I am not saying all are like this, just thought this post was funny.
That's cause your car is a piece of crap superflea; heh, not only the car, but you also; you are a dirty Arizona resident who should be put out of his misery. Civicz suckz!!!!
j/k superflea, Type-R meet on Wednesday night at Speedworld.

Yeah some ITR owners around here at least are cocky 19 yr olds, whose mommy and daddy bought them the car. But then again, so are all the SI and GSR owners, especially the SI guys.
I wish I could get an ITR
too expensive for my blood right now (then again I'm 16). My mommy and daddy won't get me on either hehe so I'm sticking with a civic for now.

Anyway i looked at this post because it seems like it's a post about their attitude....dont let a few bad apples ruin the whole batch....i have met and or talked to online many ITR owners who are very cocky. I have also met many GS-R owners who are very cocky.....but there are good guys in those bunches. I believe marketing plays a role in their attitude, when people are told they are getting the best, they believe it and think they are better than everyone else. They are all different cars with different purposes behind them, each car is better than another car in some aspects and worse in some.....it's dependant on what he/she is looking for. I have found that a lot of people talk down other people's cars because they want to feel better about their cars....what is this a pissing contest?
It's all suppose to be about fun....different stroke for different folks, let the haters hate, and let the player play.
Amen! It's all about the ego's man, I have a car with 10 more HP than you so I'm better! Just goes to show how Acura has managed to manipulate people into believing that when they buy their RSX's, they can beat down everyone.
i think it's kinda funny how some honda owners are so cocky about their cars.
i own a crx hybrid i work on myself, but it is far from 'the ****'

The stupidest thing about it all is that RSX = Integra in the Honda/Acura line-up. It's almost like the RSX guys think that it's not the replacement of G3 Integras. To make things worse, some clubRSX guys almost act like the new Celica GT-S owners... wtf?
Well this is my philosophy on the whole RSX thing...(we don't have Type S's here ...just the New 2.0L Intergra Type R)..
Sure...its a nice car....saw it several times in person. But I think its very mainstream, and not he rebelious spartan ITR we've come to known and love. The car has a lot of torque (for a Honda) and is very refined and massaged. but is that what we want in the R? I like my R because of its rough kick in the back of the pants attributes. I also love watching my tach needle climb past 9000rpms (modified ECU)...where as the new R stops at 9000, and hearing the screaming growl of my b18c when the VTEC kicks in at 4800 (again modified ECU). The new R's k20c is known to be quieter and tame in this area
The styling is so trendy...the general trend nowadays is wider, taller, bigger, and smoother. you can see this in the new Lancers and WRX's. I was kind of disappointed to see Honda following the same suit.
The95-01 ITR was the king of the 1.8 liter class and even dominated many cars in the 2.0L+ classes. They were often pitted against cars that were way out of their league and suprised many when it easily kept up or overtook its bigger competitors.
The 2.0L ITR has a lot of competition in its new class and I doubt it will be as dominating and bold. It'll probably rank average in its new class and will not be able live up to the reputation set forth by its predecessor....
Bottom line...nice car...but unlike the 1.8L R, it was made to impress te general public and not the real R purists! Its got really big shoes to fill and frankly speaking, I doubt it will....it'll be nice if I am proven wrong though.

I'm an owner of a Type-S, and from what I've seen, the cars are very comparable. I think the Type-S excels in some areas the Type-R doesn't, and the Type-R excels in some areas the Type-S doesn't. I still say, however, that the Type-S is the replacement for the GS-R, so comparisons to the Type-R are unfair. The RSX-S outperforms the GS-R in every conceivable way, so looking at it like that, I feel that the RSX is superior to the Integra.
First off, the RSX _is_ a G4 integra. Personally, I really like it. Hating other honda's is just stupid. It's like hating your relatives.
Having said that, we all know the RSX-S is the car to end all cars.

I only have one thing to say they are full of them selves
Me and a freind with a camaro SS were going to UTC on hte interstate running 85 when we pass a RSX
he was missinformed and thought he could compete
seeing it I slow down and so does he I wanted to see if it was a type s
wee needless to say it was but then he got very cocky
gearing down he proceeded to floor it and leave us
pissed of we did the same I broke right ans came beside him on his right will the SS did the same on the left we both looked at him like and idoit and blew his damn doors off, we slowed back down as to not risk a tick 130 in a 65 is bad
he then comes beside us again slows down and tries again this time we ditched him and just kept in it all the way down town
i guess they think they have a unbeatable car
what morons

These are the type of people that give us import owners a bad name. Imagine a domestic owner that hears these kids talking about how great their RSX-s is? It doesn't take many ppl, but a few out there will have a really negative impact on us.
This is not limited to imports either. There are PLENTY of true domestic enthusiasts that just plain like fast cars. A few that look down on imports just because they're small little lawnmowers also have the same impact on domestic owners. I think it's just something we'll have to live with forever...

Don't get me wrong...I really like the 2.0L ITR...but like I said..its got big shoes to fill...Honda kept the 1.8L R out on the market too long and it really evolved into a fanatics car
Just like the NSX...that will be hard to top too

Excuse me, but where does the S exceed the R? Not meaning to offend you, but which comes first in the alphabet? I like that we are not a "dime-a-dozen". “R” = Rare. “R” = Racing. “R” = Raw. I see “S” all over the place now, and frankly it’s offensive to see so many. My brother in law is always in my face about “S” this, and “S” that. Well, “S”how me all the numbers if you want to make yourself feel better about being “S”econd behind the "R" in the alphabet and in overall performance.
Well, you'll notice a lot of the RSX-S guys are using the Car and Driver time of 6.1 in the 0-60. That's nice, you can read. I'm not the best driver in the world, but until YOU can run a 6.1 0-60 quit coming to me and telling me your car is faster than mine. And there's more to a good car than just acceleration and quarter mile times. I can pretty much guarantee you that the DC2 Type R is a better track car thanks in large part to it's tuning. That's when the S guys will say, that's like comparing apples to oranges, the ITR is a factory tuned car, the S is a mass produced etc etc blah blah. Then I say, "Then why are you comparing 0-60 and 1/4 mile times?" *Silence*
It's natural that one feels their own car is the best, I can understand that. But please be realistic. The R and the S are not so different that one clearly bests the other. I do believe the RSX Type S has some strong points that are better than the DC2 (it's only natural for a new generation vehicle to improve upon the last), but I don't think it's the ITR killer that everyone's hyping it up to be.
