Whats wrong with my RM-Spec Complete Coilovers...
Never mind, its supposed to be like that
But I wanted to leave this up for others to search for when they need to.
I just posted this here cause I doubt people will read that other post that I brought back from the dead. Well, here goes...
I wanted to bring this from the dead because I just recently got some used and they are stiff as hell. I mean if I jack up the front tire, the rear tire starts to come off the ground too. I guess I'm a little worried because I'm not sure if they are supposed to be like this or if they are blown or something. If anybody can help me figure out if my setup is right or not, please let me know. They are on a 1996 civic dx hatch and I lowered it about 2.75" all around. Well, looking at the shock and the spring, I guess I would need a spring compressor to go any higher than 2.75" drop. Meaning, it looks like I couldn't raise the car to say a 2" drop only if I wanted too. Is everything ok with them. I guess, I'm worried because before I had ground control coilovers and agx shocks and I noticed that with the shocks, they would uncompress a little when you raise the car like the oem shocks do. With these, it seems like they are so tight that the spring will not let the car even rebound off the spring. Fast driving over bumps and stuff is ok, but I can feel the car hit the ground hard after I hit a bump. But if I take a bump really slow like a speed bump or something, the front will bounce like 2 times very stiffly before it settles again. Is this supposed to be like this. OMG, I am sooooo scared because if these are blown or something, I will have to undo all the suspension work that I just did on my car. Fast responses are greatly appreciated. Also, I don't have the wrenches yet because they are still on the way. But I couldn't raise the car any more then what they were out of the box, so that doesn't matter anyway.

That's how those coilovers are, they are not blown. Their spring rate is approximately 500 in the front and 350 in the rear. They are true short stroke coilovers. Raising the car up will only stiffen up the spring rate. I was able to raise it up for 3/4 inch on them, which made the spring even stiffer.
