Supercharger for a nice flat power curve, that is easily predictable, ditto for torque. It will make power almost like a stock B16.
Turbo if you are a drag/straight line kinda guy. Make power more like a GSR, but it'll require you to learn how to manage it.

If you properly size your turbo then you can do more with it than drive in a straight line. IMO turbo is a much better way to go. Only benefits that I see with SC is instant boost (don't wait for turbo to spool) and easier to deal with emissions. However as you can see, the power output isn't terribly impressive. You could do better on a VERY mild turbo setup.

well actually i had a s/c d16 in a 93 hatch. Traction was never a problem, it did kind of take a while to build up full boost similiar to a turbo. I was happy w/ it, i got it for nothing so price wasnt a factor. But if it was to cost me SOMETHING, i would've def. gone w/ A turbo setup...so much more room for improvement in power.. blow off valve, bigger turbo. my vote is for a turbo kit...
The properly sized turbo argument is BS, you're still going to have a power curve that isn't linear, and if you find yourself in a need to up/down shift in a corner, it is more difficut to place where in your power curve you are.
Whoever said it's easier to get traction on a turbo is a dumbass. The SC power tapers in, just like stock, the turbo boost comes more all at once, and is more likely to break traction at higher RPMs.
You could conceivably taper the boost in with an electronic boost controller, and you might get a more drivable turbo.
It's only a consideration if you're a serious driver, most of the stunnaz are going to go turbo and never look back.
****, ONE of my honda's is turboed... it's fun for it's application...

i have a turbo and its ok, i rather have a supercharger or b20. Turbo is fine, but the way it puts power down is not that great. Turbo is more for top end. Hondas need torque down low, the only good way to do that is more displacement or a supercharger. Don't get me wrong turbo is fun, but there are better ways to get power.

Can't get a flat torque curve with a turbo??? WHAT BULLSHIT! Check this out!

Couldn't get a line more linear than that if you drew it with a ruler! As I said, anything is possible with a PROPERLY sized turbo.

That is a sexy dyno graph, did you build and tune that sucker!? ARe you using an EBC to taper in the boost? I'm amazed that it doesn't run out of breath in the top end, yet spools so low. That is excellent. I would be happy with a ~170-ft/lbs tq car, I wonder if that turbo woud support it. Got links.
I restate my OPINION, turbo's are good for making MORE power, but a SC makes a more tame/usable power.
I mean ****, it's not like I'm misleading anyone by saying "go supercharger" I fully qualified my opinion.
and everyone agrees with the FI forum thread, cause 95% of gearheads are stuck in the drag racer mentality.
