Default Spoon Air Filter

Does anyone have any info or experience with this product? I never hear about it but I just saw it the other day on spoon-sports.com site in the Air I/O section.

Its good, Its just a Monster Sports Filter made for Spoon
For a drop in filter though I would just go with a Comptech Uni Filter for $60 over Spending 175

Not Yet, But I will.
the unit I have is for my own car, And I Dont have the engine In right now to test yet, also the engine is heavily modded (read White Dragons Latest Post) So I will be doing comparison tests in about a month of ARC, Stock Hose and K&N, Comptech Short Ram, and AEM CAI. These tests will be done on My car Very Modded and a customers 2000 ITR Which is Stock with only a JDM 4-1 and Cat added and Thermal exhaust

I always read that the Monster filter is cheaper than the Spoon filter. Can somebody say exactly how much cheaper? $5 less? $10 less? $50 less?

Monster and Spoon both also use the same wheels just different colours and logos.

Well the filter is actually made by PowerFilter which is owned by MonsterSport ltd.
The make two kinds. One that is powerfilter 2 and powerfilter 3. The powerfilter 3 is the cheap on which is made of paper like element like KNfilter but does not alow cleaning. The Powerfilter 2 which like the Spoon filter allows cleaning with there cleaning products.
Power Filter 2= $136.50 shipped
Power Filter 3= $68.50 shipped
SpoonSport sport filter= $150.50 shipped
Power Filter cleaner kit=$23.00 shipped

yes, no chop shop knn filter hassles. It looks exactly like an oem filter other than the filter element is foam instead of paper. It even has that metal skeleton the oem filter has

I have the Spoon air filter and the Spoon carbon intake elbow.. The only benefit I see the elbow is weight savings... As for the filter I think it works as good as any aftermaket filter out there. I personaly wouldn't buy them for their crazy price.. I have them both because my friend sold it to me for $50.

As Mike said, the Comptech is 100% drop in and only costs ~$60. Foam and cleanable also. I've been using it for almost 3 years now. Originally with the stock intake, now with the Icebox. No problem.

I don't know I never really like the Comptech filter I guess more on looks then anything. Because to me atleast the one I saw looked like you could almost see through it..and at that time I just thought it look cheap for the money I would rather buy KNFilter or Power Filter or Spoon filter. But then again I like performance and quality over cheaper price items any day. But then everyone is not like me. So everyone to there own.

Granted the Comptech filter looks kinda chinsey, it's actaully pretty nice.

Velocity stack on the base of the filter...and the foam element is a dual element sort of deal (at least on the sides of the filter) there is the blue coarse stuff you see and then on the inside there is a finer white filter--the element is OEMd by Uni I belive.

And for those questioning the funcitonality of foam elements, put it this way: if you check out MotoX bikes, they use foam element filters and those suckers pretty much swim in dust all the time.

If you must have an aftermarket drop in filter, Comptech is still the best bang for the buck I think, especially when you consider the cost of a few OEM replacement filters...
