Default diagnose my tranny problem

i was out driving today and while shifting from 2nd to 3rd i mis-shifted and grinded the hell out of 5th. now there is a problem getting in and out of reverse. sometimes it will go into reverse fine and other times it will be hard as hell. getting out of reverse is always giving me a problem. it feels like reverse doesn't want to let go when going back to neutral.

i next to nothing about the tranny internals so any thoughts would be appreciated. i still have 5k left on the warranty. do you forsee any problems with getting this covered?

thanks in advance

Sorry to hear Lance, weren't you planning on going some work in that area anyway?

Sounds like warranty work to me!

Check out the warranty on it. I'm not an expert on trannies either, but does how does it feel when shifting through the rest of the gears?

You could have worn out the the synchro for reverse, which will need a total tranny removal and overhaul. It sucks I know.

1st through 5th engage and release perfectly fine it's only reverse having the issue

metal-x - have you changed your tranny fluid? that was one thing i had thought about doing but it's possible the dealer might want to do it. *shrugs*

Maybe it's that reverse change holder thing or whatever it's called? I don't remember the name of the part, but I could point it out on a diagram.
