I've never heard of that happening unless the car is super slammed to the ground

I had that happen, only because there was a trench in the middle of the street, and I went over it at 40 mph (didn't see the damn thing til it was too late to do anything) and it totally bottomed out my suspension, and i have the dents in my shock towers from the camber kit. Other than that, my only gripe is the squeaking because I didn't lube the bushings

AHhhhhhh!!!! The stories keep adding...and I'm expecting mine to be delivered by the USPS guy tommorow, Monday. As far as squeaking problems in the future...what lube would you guys recommend?

I should have gone w/Ingalls! DOH!

When I get the patience to take the kit off again, I'm going to do lube it with silicon grease. Hoepfully that'll work. Also, I believe white lithium grease will work just as well, if not better. HTH

Same exact thing happend to me, its inevitable that they will bang the top of the wheel well if you have a fairly low drop, it dosent have to be too extreme, it looks like the only part hitting is the screws that hold the ball joint in place. It's common on all integras though, i've seen an integra w/ an ingalls kit with the same damage, so its the design of the UCA not really the kit. If you want to see how low my car if for reference, look in "my garage"

I am going to just let it be, ever since it banged the hole through my car it got sort of conditioned to it, and barely bangs anymore.

edit* but when i does bang, it sounds like death

when does it bang? when you bottom out, or going over speed bumps too quick or what?

they bang when you hit either a pot hole on the road, or when you are driving at a decent pace and hit a bump in the road. It basically only happens during city driving because the roads are ****, but if you slow down enough and take the bump with ease it dosent let the arm hit. On the highway it is fine because the road stay level.
It could also happen while taking some backroads where the road is too bumpy.

I would expect that to happen after hitting a trench at 40mph.

Can you guys take a picture of your Skunk2 Camber kit installed? Aren't there two versions of it? The older one and the newer one with the redesigned ball joint. This is the one I received today from the brown guy.,...

Most of you used silicon grease prior to installing it right? That way, any squeak will be prevented.

i beleive the actual new control arm design stayed the same, its just the ball joints that were redesigned. I'll try and get some pics up of the old ball joints compared to the new

Yeah those H&R sports are too damn soft. Luckily I don't have any damage since I'm still using stock control arms and everything (this is another reason why I DON'T want a camber kit, even w/ -2.3 deg. in front).

I want to get Ground Controls for Koni shocks w/ custom stiffer spring rates as soon as I can afford it.

I wonder if this is something the GC top hats can prevent.

I don't think so. Since we have a double-wishbone front suspension, the springs and shocks are separate from the spindles and controls arms (which is what determines suspension geometry). The upper control arm is going to be a certain distance away from the top of the shock tower, and that distance depends on ride height. It doesn't matter what springs and shocks are on the car. If the car is lowered, the UCA will be closer to the shock tower. If the car is slammed, it will be very close to the shock tower. The only ways to prevent contact from occuring is to raise the car, use stiffer springs, or both.

*edit* if anything, the GC top hats would make it MORE likely for the UCA to hit the shock tower. The reason is you have more shock travel than you would have otherwise, which will allow the suspension to go higher up into the fenderwell. With regular suspension, the bumpstops are supposed to keep the UCA's from hitting the fenderwell, but w/ the GC top hats they might not keep it from happening.

inty2511: do you have bumpstops installed right now on your shocks?

those are the newer version with the re-designed balljoints.

if it helps, i'm running spoon springs (over a 2 inch drop) and i haven't had the camber kit contact the shock tower once. just drive carefully and you should be okay.

if time permits, ill be installing the skunks this weekend. my car is equipped with TeinHAs dropped nearly 2 inches as well...and as for the rear, I will just do it the cheaper way and add 1-2 1/8 thick washers. when i do install it...I will make sure to take pictures and you guys can tell me if i any problem will surface in the future.

Ive been running on neuspeed race springs w/ the skunk 2 kit(new design I believe) and haven't had any problems. No slipping and it never comes in contact with the engine bay of the car.
