N/A Build Up ? please
I have a jdm h22 and was wondering what is the highest the motor could be bored out to. I have seen the one guy on here with 2.44 is that the max that the motor can be bored to? what is the cost for such a build up. I am looking to get close to 250 whp if possible or more safely and reliably. Any suggestions appreciated thanks. I really dont want to turbo either however I did consider SC but reliability and every day use is key
250 is setting a pretty high goal. Most of the fully built h22's are doing 215-230 whp.250 is possible but not good for daily driving due to the compression required to put down such numbers.89mm pistons are a popular choice i think someone on gere is running 90mm but thats pretty big.
As far as money goes thats going to be determined by how much you can do yourself.

An h22a cant get to 2.44L. That's 2point6, he has a 98mm welded crank to get that displacement. The H22a crank is 90.7mm and with an 89mm bore I am running 2258cc or so, same as the H23, 90mm would get you up to 2308, still 2.3

IF you are not totally interested in reliability (long engine life) then you can go even bigger than the 2.44ltr that I have by boring out the cylinders a bit more, but this will have tradeoffs.
