Default OT: Exhaust: Comptech Or Somthing similar (DC2R)

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=637729

I know its not super ITR related but I am looking for comptech. I have done some searching in zerothread and I was wondering if anybody has anything else they can reccomend that sounds similar to the comptech.

make sure it doesnt have bottle necks and then its fairly close 2.5".... or else your just paying for something that performs like stock and makes more noise.

Is there a difference in the cat-back/axle-back setups as far as power. Is there a signifigant of an increase for the close to $700.00shipped.

I figure that I will get axle back for sound and I would prolly get like a 1whp increase if that. But would I be gaining something substantial with the catback for the money (like 6-9whp?!?) I only have shot-ram/intake as far as engine mods.

Thanks for the input.

You can get a fujitsubo rm-01a for around 725 shipped, 2.38", very close to 2.5, no bottle necks, and terrific sound that is not loud. Talk to Leo at JDM spec performance, he will hook you up. You will need to get a new cat. converter also, altogether you might gain around 5hp?

here is the setup I'm going to be running..

It is true 2.5" piping, no resonators, no bottlenecks.

Here are some pics.

like I said, no bottlenecks, everything is 2.5"

I chose to run carsound cat, and T1R muffler.

The piping is mandrel bent, and is tapered at one end on each piece so it fits together smoothly.

all the hangers are supplied (obivously there are more, these shown for reference.

I picked up the piping from Mike (kteller8)@ http://www.accordinglydone.com...id=66 and my muffler from mike @ http://www.ipsracing.com .

I believe I ended up paying a hair over $500 shipped, and I could have gone w/normal piping (vs. Stainless) and gone w/a cheaper muffler. (Ti ownz j00!). But this was including the 2.5" cat.. but you have to keep in mind, there will also be a cost for welding/install if you don't have, ahem...gonnections

Ill be installing the setup next week, and Ill post a full write up on impressions, and the install process.. then a short time later I hope to do some dyno tuning.

Nice set up. What are your expectations regarding sound (loudness)?
What do you have upstream from your new exhaust?

I expect it to be loud...luckily my T1R came w/a silencer. It could be worse however, I could have ran a testpipe

I'm running a JDM DC 4-1 upstream

I agree w/you there.. the "note" isnt really my concern. bang for the buck, however is..

hanging out w/all my friends running open header has made me realize...its not *that* loud.
