What exhaust do you have on your CRX?
does anyone on here have a Apexi exhaust on their rex?
if so what model?
I was all set to buy a WS on group buy when the guy called me and says that APEXi said the hatch exhaust wont work which was contrary to what he initially told me.
I am in need of a new exhaust and now I have no idea what to get.
I was only going to pay $395 shipped for the APEXi so it would be great to get something around that price.
any help is appreciated

got one of those red mufflers from a tuner shop for 40 bucks, loud as hell and seems to give hp gains. Got the rest of the catback made for 150 at a muffler shop, sounds better than any exhaust Ive heard
I have the money to spend on a catback system so I would like to, willing to spend up to $550.

its a pea shooter but i jus put it on yesterday and i feel lil to no power loss.
engine makes more noise than the exhaust. finally. hehe
and STILL CHIRPS 4th gear like no problem. hehe
i guess if u wanna sound cool. or whateva. get an exhaust. but since i went back to stock id only have perfomance exhaust for the track.
but jus my opinion.
jus roll up on me and see my pea shooters. but fear if yer stock... b16a or sohc wit bolt ons.

Works fine for me; doesn't sound raspy or excessively loud under normal driving conditions...however, when VTEC engages, I think corpses turn over in their grave...nasty

I just bought The new greddy Sp2 Exhaust for My REX , I love it , All stanilles still, Very quit , Its not Some Getto APC universial Muffler , My built Single cam Loves It
My experience says go to Meineke and have a custom done. If you go to a shop with really knows their stuff you will get a very nice setup-either loud or quiet. Our race exhaust uses 2 of their "bullet' mufflers and is definitely not quiet-The setup has a CATCO hi-flow 2.5" convertor and 2.5" piping to the rear. You don't need it this way for the street-but this shop did a great fit that is hardly seen. ~$400.
I have a 2.5" straight back exhaust system on one of my CRXs.
No bends on it, also, no fuel tank to get in the way.
I tried the HKS muffler I had in there before and it was super loud.
I then tried a Magnaflow muffler I was told was good enought to quiet V8's. HA! it was the loudest thing I have ever heard on a car, I might as well had gone with no muffler.
Then I bought a dynomax muffler. The B E S T by far. It made the car fun again, I can step on it and the noise is almost like stock. It is not as pretty as the SS mufflers out there, but if you want performance and low noise you can't beat that muffler.

i'm using crush bent 2 1/4" custom piping w/5zigan fireball ripoff style muffler. looks nice, had it cocked to the side and up a little so that it looks a little more aggressive.
i noticed some gains, even w/crush bent piping...probably cause the rusty 14 yr old stock exhaust was so dirty and clogged though.

Even though I don't particularly like the looks of the thermal unit, highly recommend it for it's quality construction and good tone (I have the 3" turbo exhaust) . Those exaushts will probably outlast anything else available. I have the Greddy SP on my hatch and it's awesome sounding, but the construction sucks. If you live anyhwhere that they have ever heard of rust you're gonna have problems. If you want super awesome and don't mind paying for it, the RS*R systems can't be beat. They also have good longevity, most I've seen last here in IL winter driven for around 5-7 years.

ACT HD pressure plate, ACT organic street disc. 15" 1999 GSR wheels on 195/15/50 Kumho Ecstas.
i jus got back from chirping up 4th so it still does it nicely.
and its not wheel hoppin crazy chirp. jus a CHIRP from my 8000rpm shifts.
1st, 2nd, 3rd gear tend to jus spin the wheels if i dont roll out. alotta wheel hop in 1st, 2nd if launched hard.
also 3rd gear i switch to 4th at around 80-90mph usually like high 80s 88 or so. thats also assuming my speedo is correct.
note: NO LSD so im assuming a single wheel chirp. also exhaust makes no difference in my chirpin ability hehe. from straight piping to stock pea shooter crx si exhaust.
now to the topic.

Exhaust for me is 2.25" Mandrel Bent Catback with an 18" Resonator to an ES Oval 2.25" Muffler with a Single Tip.....Dead Quiet around town and to 4-5K at Light Throttle......Not very loud at WOT, My AEM Intake really overpowers it. Much better than my Old Focuz Set up.

We've done a ton of crx custom mandrel kits for ppl on HT: ends up pretty cheap and the gains are nice!! 1989-1991 available $185-225
