Default Stock Sleeves, good to what PSI?

I will be running a turbo and I am pretty much set on the Hondata reprogram. I will be using Eagle rods and JE pistons (9:1). I didn't really want to resleeve my block, so what is the max psi the stock sleeves can take, and can these sleeves be bored or re-honed? Thanks,

gsr*lude

all depends on tuning, but even with perfect tuning I wouldn't take it past 16lbs.

15 or 16 on stock sleeves to stay in the reliability range

you don't really have to worry about that either. Keep your tuning in check and you won't have any problems.

I've been runing 18psi with stock sleeve for a year now. Everything looks fine and motor still running strong.

just goes to show you proper tuning means everything....

but if you are just starting out...don't go thinking the day after you install your drag kit that you can crank the boost up that high

U can boost 22-23psi on stock Honda sleeves.. Just need fuel and tuning.. I know people boosting 22psi all day long on stock sleeves.. If u have a block guard ,pistons, rods, u can boost 22psi.. I boosted 22psi all the time on my setup, no problems what so eva.. People don't seem to understand the fact that our motors are really small ie.. 1.6, 1.8,The problem is that when u stay in boost for a long period of time, there is soooo much heat generated and it has no where to go since our motors lack displacement, motors blow.. U can sleeve ur motor and still blow if u do 150mph runs using 1-5 gears... When I run single turbo supras with big hp, and big domestics, I usually start from high 2nd and race lasts up to 4th gear may be beginning of 5th... Bottom line is don't stay in boost for good 20seconds otherwise ur **** is gonna blow, DOESN'T MATTER IF IT IS SLEEVED OR NOT..

TurboR,

I was just recently told that I could not use aftermarket pistons on stock sleeves. Only honda ones, how true is that statement?

I'm not real familar with the JDM Hondas, but it's safe to say that there are not any OE Honda Turbo pistons in the states... if you get my drift...

I am the perfect example.. I put 400+@ wheel using after market pistons on my stock TypeR Sleeves.. I am not just saying it, I have the video and the dyno plots. Honda sleeves are real good up to 20psi, maybe 22..
