Another power steering question...
I have a 92 civic HB Si. The car came with power steering, but I removed the pump and all the lines that go to the rack. My question is about the fluid. I removed as much fluid as I could from the rack and then made some plugs to stop any dirt or excess fluid from spilling out. My car handles like crap. I have Tein HA coilovers and GSR front hubs w calipers and rotors. It seems to have a lot of play back and forth. Not very responsive. Is there anything that I can do to help this problem? I have had the alignment done recently so I know that is not the problem. Any help or suggestions would be great! Thanks
Go do a search for "power steering" in the integra type-r forum archives.
1) you don't want to run the rack without fluid
2) you definitely do not want to cap the inlet and outlet
3) there are two approaches - to loop the inlet and outlet - or to loop them and install a "breather".
It's covered in depth there so you should be able to decide which you prefer.
