Default Vote: Classified forum split to help find what you want faster.

Don't Leave Without VOTING

I know that this would help me find and sell my stuff faster and also help others do the same. This forum moves so fast you post and 20 minutes later your on page 8. most people flip through the first pages 3 tops. This will make the classifieds a much better place.

I suggest that they get broke up into possible

Engine parts etc.
wheels Ect.
interior etc.
suspension ect.

Model type IE

This one seems like the worst idea since so many parts cross over but might work in some instances. This would work if people wanted a DC2 part and looked in the DC2 forum and same for EG or others.

EK
EG
DC2 like the discussion forums.

another idea i just thought of is having a vouch forum just for people vouches so they can just search a user-name and find it quickly.

at least if the Off topic parts were split off.. it wouldn't be so bad if u could search through the body of a post.. but lookin for parts takes forever sometimes..

I dont know if splitting up into different models would work out that great but I do think splitting them up into different categories like Engine parts be one and interior be another would help everyone out. Maybe you could even split it up into two different types like one being a For Sale and another one being Wanted to Buy. Either way I think it would help out on the volume.

i think breaking the for sale topics would help but would clutter the forum some. i think it might be a little bit better to just make descriptive titles mandatory for selling items. the search function does work

Ben, you are a smart one. I hate how my post always gets bumped down to page 8 after 20 mins also.

Most other forums that are larger. IE VWvortex have like 20 different. classified sections. this makes for clutter but you can easily find what you want in a few minutes. equals less time you waste looking.

it is going to be difficult to figure out a way to split items... many parts are universal so how is that going to work? ie, integra seats in eg's, del sol seats in ef's, integra engines in civics etc etc....

We'll I think that someone who is looking for Integra seats, would look in the Integra Classifieds...not EG Classifieds dude... I think it's an awesome idea...Get's 's from me

Seperating into categories is a good idea...like Thepartstrader.com.....but minus the shady people on there!!!!!!!

Then you can even search seperate categories rather than only a Classifieds search...

The world made easier

A simple fix would be,

driveline and engine parts
suspension and brake parts
wheels and tires
interior, exterior and rice

It would make it easier for us who buy and sell on the site.

A "wanted" section would be nice also.

the only thing i fore see as frusterating would be if you have different categories such as interior, engine, exterior, susp., etc. is that if you have a lot of items for sale would you have to seperate and post in each section? other wise it does seem like a very good idea!

yea, I'm for breaking it up. It would be cool if the actual posts in the classifieds could be searchable too. Like some posts are just called Civic Stuff or My stuff but you might skip over it and what you wanted was actually in that post but you didn't expect it to be there because of the post title. So if the body of the posts could be searched too, that would make it a lot easier for the buyer.

i think there should just be 2 categories.

for sale
wanted to buy

that's it.

what i think is needed is a better SEARCH feature. the current search only searches the title & not the body of the post. it's almost impossible to list everything for sale in the title.

Theres a major reason this isnt in the system because it pulls down the bandwidth very quickly 5 people on here search "VTEC" and the site will be done. it will be extrmemly slow. it would take and incredibly big system to handle a search thats content specific. Kinda like EBAY. thats why Titles are so important one big post is not the answer either. and a WTB forum isnt either reason is a prospective seller of a EG cluster is gonna post it in the EG forum. well when he goes to sell it he sees your WTB post in the EG forum. bingo everyones life is easier. Lets face it most sellers would never go to the WTB forum. someone would have to play matchmaker.

i think people need to learn how to title posts and put what they are selling in the title. That should be a requirement, Then the search would work awsome. And damn't why can we not search for anything under 3 letters? I know there are speed/performance/space issues but so many things on here are 2 letter abbreviations:

FI,EG, EK, EJ, EM, SI, t3, t4, all the states (if u are looking for meets/locations), and many more I don't have time to think of at the moment.

http://www.jdmintegra.com and http://www.jdmcivic.com have their classifieds split up into

Stock JDM/USDM parts
Aftermarket Exterior
Engine and Drivetrain
Suspension and Wheels
Aftermarket Interior
Car Audio
Cars for Sale
Miscellaneous
Wanted

it makes it a lot easier to find parts and easier for me to moderate
