Any DA owners with JDM headlights and HIDs?
what kind of hid application are you using. i've been looking at hid kits myself but have heard about the problems you are comming across now. a member on http://www.g2ic.com named VDO has done a hid retrofit with a set of tl/cl hid's. you may want to try that good luck

my friend had the same problem, if you go to http://www.misterjung.com, and you can purchase the shielded bulbs for your HID system. Hope this helps

Not as good as it would look when they're on my car though.

I have 1 piece lights and I am gonna be putting Hids in soon. It doesnt shine right because the 1 piece light is not a projector light. There is a bulb on ebay that you get for them for like $100 but im not sure what there called. Ill have to check.

no you don't, lots of cars have HID as stock but don't have projectors (however projectors are superior IMHO). What you need is D2R bulbs w/ proper shields. MTK Kommander has made some out of aluminum cans before, he can probably tell you what you need to do.

Since nobody makes H4H HID bulbs, your best (and easiest) bet, w/out having to modify a H4 bulb to just "bolt in" is to either take a H4 of 9006 bulb and trim it accordly to fit into the headlight housing, and "tack" it with a bead of JB Weld in a couple of spots, just to hold it in place to get an idea of how you want the bulbs aimed. After you find the spot you want, put more JB Weld in there to hold the bulb in there securely. This may sound ghetto, but works great on other friends' cars that I've seen on their JDM headlights. Depending how well you apply the JB Weld, it can come out looking clean or look like a mess of crap around your headlight housing inside your engine bay (use a small stick or toothpick apply it on).
Ok so let me get this straight. I have both HIDS from a set of bmw 740 lights I picked up. My best bet would be to get the d2r bulbs correct? Would that eliminate having to use the aluminum cans to get them to aim right.
If you want to make your HID bulbs fit H4H headlights, just get a stock OEM H4H halogen bulb and cut it where the prongs are so that there is only a prong/ring left. The just get your existing HID bulb and expoxy it so that everything is one piece so it fits in the H4H housing using the H4h prongs/ring but using your previous, or new HID bulbs..Confusing at first, but I can show pictures later.

Indeed. You have to create your own reflector shields to avoid the scattered light.

yeah thats the ww rs lip kit (I only bought the lip), my car is a 91 so I put the OEM 92-93 front on it and cut the bullshit out in the middle so i would have a sweet bumper for my intercoooler...; those headlights are jdm, i just opened them up and cleaned them and painted the housing,
nice HID's!!!!!<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by TheIntegraGuy »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I personally like the "Mugen" front bumper better than a lip that's not even supposed to be called "Mugen"..
