Okay guys may be getting out of Honda to something a little more daddy like...
Well I just may be doing it, getting rid of my Civic for a GTi 20th Anniversary Edition.
I'm trying to see what will work out best, trading in my car "stock" or selling it with all my extras or selling the car then the extras.
I have a few posts with my stuff for sale:
97 HX for sale SOLD
COMPLETE! Greddy Kit
Various parts
It's been fun and there is a chance I may have to stick it out until I can make a deal that works for me and VW. So please help a brother out and ask around. Remember, I still have to find out if i am going to trade in or just sell my car, so I'll take all offers and handle accordingly, i.e, if I trade in my car i will sell off parts, if I sell complete car with extras - self explanitory, or end up having a huge garage sale.

to daddy.
<---would do it do but wants to finally own a car instead of making payments.
ROFL, i was wondering where roger was? Yeah...sad to say, something I don't know much about so I can't mess with it.
ALRIGHTY THEN!
I got it! I am now the proud owner of a 2003 20th Anniversary Edition GTI. I have to say this cARRR is bad A$$, Big brakes, special edition recaro's, leather wrapped steering wheel, 6 speed tranny, 18" rims, special lip, skirts and rear lip, aluminum dash surround (not tacky), monsoon sound system, black headliner, sport tuned bilstein shocks and lowered suspension.
Car handles like a dream, and the torque and power are a night and day difference from the civic. And WOW does the ABS work well, ask Spade and the poor unfortunate salesperson who let us take it for a test drive, lol.
I will miss my old car :

And thanks to all my friends here who have helped me along the way: Spade, EG6Si, Vtecvoodoo, PSI420, Allstock, Bishop aka Anthony, EKology, Kronz420, Tan, Kevin, Marauder and anyone else I might have missed. I'll still be hanging around here though...
PS All my crap is for sale, so let me know if you need something, see my links.

Congratulations on the baby. I was in the same position and got a used 1.8T four door, my wife and I are really happy with it so far. I just wish I could find a buyer for my Civic now!
My friend has a GTi. Its fun, ive never gotten to drive it though but it really pulls without even trying hard. When I was looking for a car 2 years ago, I sorta looked at VW, but didnt really know much about cars then (as far as fun ones) and nothing of the GTi =/
But I like my Civic, and dont think My parents would have shelled out that kinda of money for a GTi (although I am making loan payments on part of the cost on my civic) But for me an SRT-4 would be damn sweet right now ;D

Congrats, I'm glad you like the car! I have two close friends with 20AE's (blue and black). Pretty sweet daily driver. GREAT looking car, one of the finest looking cars out right now imo.
Personally, I hated my GTI (except for the looks), even with upgraded suspension, tires, rims, chip, various comfort mods. It was just too porkish for me. The handling was nowhere near the handling of my old (stolen) 96cx. I'm glad the 6speed feels a lot better than the 5speed did. What a clunky pos.
Anyway, JMO, but if you love the car
!!!
Congrats again.

go with the APR data port chip tuning. my roomate has a GTi 337 edition (european 20th aniv) with the older apr solder in chip. he has 3 different programs (stock 91 octane 100 octane) that he can choose from the cruise control stalk. havent tried the 100 octane prog yet, but the 91 pulls dang hard. its nice to drive a car that has torque after rolling in te honda for a while

That is kind of true, although you can get away with having a 2 door as long as you have only one child. Once you have two, it's a different story, at least that was in my experience.

I did get my wife a Camry SE earlier this year. We replaced her Rav4, it was kinda small and she felt it was more from our earlier/younger times and wanted something with more of a grownup image, since she also volunteers at my daughter's school. She didnt want to look like a kid - she's only 5' and looks young already.
True that a hatch may not be a full daddy car, but i needed something with a little more grown up image as well but still fun ( I look kinda young myself) and my daughter is 6 now, so 2 door isnt a prob, and i needed A/C which my coupe didnt have( and i drive a lot for work).
It just made me feel soo much younger when i went to meet my daughters principal, looking all of 22-23 (I'm 28 this year), with a 6 year old and stepping out of a fixed up Civic. Plus the GTi is pretty much done - nothing I really NEED to do, so that makes the wife happy and happy wife = happy me.
