What can I use to clean my AEM filter?
I don't wanna go out and order the AEM FILTER CLEANER. Is there anything from AUTOZONE or maybe something around the house I can use to clean the filter? Mine is all black...my dad just suggested using GASOLINE?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

My brother said he did his in his bathtub with dawn dishsoap and kept kinda scouping up water and letting it rush out and stuff. You can do it with a hose too if you want just make sure you use air filter oil\lube after it dries.

The AEM cleaner kits are usually a few $$'s cheaper then the KN. Both work great. Its something you should do every 5-10k miles to keep the filter looking nice and working good.

AEM intakes use a K&N filter made especially for them, so use the K&N cleaner kit, and FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. This is essential to keep the filter functioning properly, i.e. washing the filter from the inside out (always run water from the clean side out thru the dirty side so you don't push the dirt farther in), ALWAYS let it naturally air dry (never use heat or compressed air), and make sure you apply the oil afterwards.
