Default Bisimoto Header Dyno

A post for the night crew. I was cruising around d-series.org and came across a bisi header dyno. Just thought i'd post this for the d-series guys out there.

This is taken straight from the site:

FYI the test mule is my '93 Civic CX with a stock D16Z6 engine with 200,000 km on it along with a Comptech Icebox and a modified (or moosified as we like to call it in HADA) Z6 exhaust manifold where the downpipe was enlarged such that the inner diameter is 2.25'', a full 3/4'' larger than the stock downpipe (see the bottom of our header comparo page for more details). We know from experience that this modification improves midrange considerably and helps peak horsepower by as much as 3-4whp on some Honda engines (ie. B16a). The 'Bisimoto header was then immediately installed (thanks Moose! Hope that burn it getting better...) and we produced the red horsepower and torque curves, showing an 8whp gain over our modified Z6 manifold. For a race header to produce such significant gains over a modified Z6 header on a completely stock high mileage and thoroughly beat Z6 engine is very impressive IMO and I look forward to testing the header again once I've installed my high compression Z6 block with ported Y8 head and a custom Exospeed camshaft. Stay tuned! (no pun intended...) I think this header is going to post some killer numbers on a race-built engine that can take full advantage of the design and tubing diameter.

:rockon to 'Bisi! :rockon to Wil at Exospeed for shipping this beauty to me! And :rockon to Fireball Coatings up here in Ontario for doing a really nice job ceramic coating it for me! Oh, here's a sexy picture of the header relaxing on my leather sofa before being put to the test...

I think this header is great. It is ( imo ) well worth the money. Also from the site it's said this header cannot be used with a/c, not sure on p/s but definitely no a/c. It is said bisi is working on a header for a/c compatibility.

The amazing gain is not the peak power the flat powerband is a street car's dream...Cams and cam timing along with headwork will make produce the top end power the header is capable of delivering...

Zee

Edit for misreading the graph

I don't see the 30whp bump in power, but I definitely see a nice gain from start to finish. That's pretty damn rare and it's great. I don't see why others are charging upwards of $1000 when Bisi is charging only half of that and his manifold looks like it takes much more work.

I think this would be my next choice if I forego my turbo setup. B-series and A/C compatible, soon I hope?

Exospeed.com has them. I think this header gains shows it's worth every penny. I will be getting this header if bisi can make it a/c compatible. It's too hot where i'm going to live to be without it lol.

Chris@allmotor. I really have no idea. I guess it's just what bisi chose to do. You can call wil at exospeed and ask him, maybe he can tell you

I love that header, I think well designed and good #'s for the price. I will be putting one on my drag motor. Much to Bisimoto.

I'm waiting to see some dyno #'s on the race header of Bisi's compared to others. Will be interesting to see.
