Default Finally.....Dyno day revisited...

Just to refresh...

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=603231

My car was having misfire problems at 24psi. I tried the MSD digital 6 with the HVC coil, blaster ss coil to no avail. I was running the BKR-7Es plugs with the gap around .024. It was still misfiring.

AFter hunting and hunting for a colder plug, I turned to TONY1 and he recommended a plug for me. NGK part number: R5671A-9 STock number: 5238

Brought the car back to the dyno today, .025-6 plug gap. 25-26psi runs all day long with no misfires. This is with the honda distributor and a blaster ss coil.

Now the bad news....haha..kinda. The car made 464whp, but 60-1 has run out of gas. Its efficiency is done around 23 psi or so. Also, the AVCR couldnt control the wastegate spring anymore. The AVCR was maxed out and boost levels, hit 26psi breifly, then dropped to around 24.5-25psi before holding steady there.

Oh well...time for a bigger turbo and a different wastegate spring.

Thanks for all your help guys! Track time is friday 9/12.

JAson

Which 60-1 do you have. Just curious because I have the 60-1 hifi with stage 5 exhaust side.
464, was that on race gas (assuming so)?

Sounds like it went good. Sorry I couldn't make it up but you know why. I will try to get up there next time around!

Oh well, I'll just have to wait and see how mine does. Like you mentioned, might have to go bigger.

dyno looked good today Jason, ya think you need bigger injectors too? let me know and i'll pick up yours. Prelude just needs a bit more fuel to get where I want (when it's done, that is)

ACtually they were only like 2.25 each. I picked them up from http://www.automotiveengineering.cc/

Jason , Tell you wife the new turbo will increase gas mileage, I used all the excuses. Or try the saftey thing, " The faster the car is , the less accidents I will have".
Good numbers.

Quick question, how do you determine when the turbo is past it's efficiency?
