Upgraded my brakes today (AV6 rotors & Legend Calipers)
Well, today was the day that I took my car into the shop to have the AV6 rotors and Legend dual piston calipers intsalled. It took half the day but we did it and they look and feel great!
Here is are some pics I snapped during the installation process............
Ok, here is my car on the lift - getting it ready to work on.

This is what my front brakes currently look like = YUCK!!!

Here we have the caliper that has been already removed and a different perspective of my shitty brakes!

Know it's time to remove the axle nut and take off the old rotor w/ a slide hammer - here comes Mr. Impact Gun

What isn't shown is that we had to remove the dust shield w/ an impact screwdriver (3 philips screws). While this was happening, my mechanic was grinding all the rust off the hub and trueing the rotor (notice the cross-hatch pattern in the next pic).
The next pic shows the new cut rotor installed with the axles nut back on.

Next pic shows the Legend caliper installed.

And this one shows the the caliper.

**Just a quick sidenote - here are some pics I took of the calipers getting painted a couple of days before - **

Now the same process takes place on the other side.
I also had the rears done at the same time - I needed to get rid of those crappy powerslut rotors (what was I thinking when I bought those?). Here are some additional pics.
Ok - here is what we started with -

The next pics shows what we found after the rotor was off. All kind of rust and ****
. Well, a little sanding and grinding made that go away!

The next pic shows the new rotor (already been cut) adn installed. I had to get new screws for the rear rotors because we chewed them up getting them to come out.

All in all, the rears were more of a PITA due to the fact the slide bolts had seized on the calipers and were being difficult to get free. I would recommend that every get thier rears calipers looked at least once a year. Ever since I have owned this car, the rear calipers ALWAYS end up having problems.
Oh and I couldn't help but snap a few pics of the '70 454 SS Chevelle next to me on the other lift.

This car was mint!! It had a 450hp 454 motor (only parts added were a lumpy cam and headers). Had a 4spd tranny w/ hurst shifter. Boy was I droolin'
Let me know if you have any ?'s
