Default jdm itr cluster problems with gas gauge & ajar door light

EDIT
ok i just installed the cluster.

i have 2 problems.

1-
the open door light stays on

2-
my gas needle is way past the empty, about another 1/4 past

i just went out to fill my tank to see if that would solve the gas gauge problem and nothing. should i just move the needle to full again since i know the tank is full.
EDIT

I would just take out the bulb for the door open light. There is not much of a reason why you would need it anyway. BTW when I put in my jdm cluster I did not have any problems.

probably just an issue in the different years. what year is your car and what year is the cluster from? do a search as this has been covered many times, even by me

Did you purchase it from a reputable source? I mean, are they trying to pass it off to you, knowing its not working properly?

i beleive if your gsr is 94-97 and you put a type r cluster in your car then some of the lights and gauges mainly fuel will be mesed up you are going to have to re pin your cluster plugs to match the cluster. i might be wrong on the exact years but i know im right aboput the repinning. i have a type r cluster in my 95 civic hatch and i used 94 gsr plugs and had to repin them using the diagram for the 2001 type r and then that solved the problem.

Exactly what nextelbuddy said.

I put an ITR cluster into my LS and everything worked except the gas gauge. Never did bother to re wire it to work. And no, replacing the LS gauge into the ITR cluster does not help

the temperature, tach, & speedometer work fine. it's just the gas gauge that is off.

my car is a 94, the cluster is from a 97 jdm itr.

everything in the gauge cluster is in the same position.

i've been hearing that the green wiring film is different and that i should move everything over from the ITR cluster into my stock cluster. bezel surround & gauges.

i have heard that too but i have no idea why the hell people keep saying that. even though the gauges are all in the same spot the wiring for the fuel gauge needs to be moved to a different location on your actual cluster plug for the fuel gauge to work. trust me thats what u are supposed to do. i have done it about 3 different times.

problem fixed!

i swapped everything like some people have suggested.

i swapped the faux cf bezel surround & all the itr gauges to my stock 94 cluster essentially utilizing the green electronic film & housing from the usdm 94 cluster.

i didn't swap the plastic color pieces that show the seatbelt, ebrake, etc. do i have to do that as well?

i compared the jdm itr to my usdm and everything matched up perfectly from what i could tell.

that orange/red glow & yellow needles on the jdm cluster light up nice. i'm not into the fad about getting jdm just because it's jdm but i must say we were cheated on the cluster!

i will find out tonight if the gas gauge is fixed or not while i drive around more.

thanks everyone for their help.

what year is your car and what year is the cluster? im pretty sure all you had to do was switch out the green film in back instead of swapping everything over. thats what i did to put a 97 jdm itr cluster into my 01 gsr. works perfect.

it's the picture. i didn't adjust the white balance so it came out darker. they are super bright in real life.

seems like everything is fixed because my gas gauge is working now & dropped a 1/4 tank from all the driving i did last night.

I have a 96 SE and my jdm itr cluster was plug and play. no modifications needed. no incorrect lights lighting up or anything.
