WHAT TIMING BELT AND WATER PUMP FOR JDM SOHC VTEC D15B??
all 92-95 oil pumps have the same part number from what i remember,
and for the timing belt one from the vx should work because thats what is used for a mini-me and thats the same block with a vtec head

NO! shut up...i hate people that say that **** and havent tried it...a VX timing belt is NOT the one used for a mini-me...a z6 is. I would say use a Z6 timing belt and water pump. The VX head is different from the z6 head, making the vx belt slightly shorter than the z6 belt. All d-series blocks I believe have the same dimensions.
VX (d15z1) timing belt : 103 teeth
EX (d16z6) timing belt : 104 teeth
DX (d15b7) timing belt : 106 teeth
since the d15b is basically a VX block with z6 pistons and head, i'd say use the Z6 oil pump and timing belt.

I know this might be a little late, but You DO use the VX belt for the D15b. If you go to a place lilke NAPA or autozone, you will ask them for a 1994 Honda civic VX timing belt. 1.5l VTEC. This is what I JUST did, so dont tell me I am wrong. And I compaired the stock "jdm" OEM honda belt, and it had the same part number on it as the Honda OEM 92-95 civicc VX belt.
Would it possible to post the part number please? I've got a JDM Vti in the UK and Honda won't have anything to do with it- can't even tell me the valve gaps but i figure they're the same as the d16z6 anyway... reason I ask is because our model numbers are different to yours, DX is a lame 1.3 litre 16V!

Can someone with knowledge on this topic please verify this information with a part number?
Thanks

. As far as the Z6 on a Y8 block, i would advise to try the belt that goes with the head (Z6 belt ) 1rst. Otherwise, try a searh on #of teeth per belt. i believe i saw 103 teeth=Z1 belt,104 teeth=Z6belt,and 105 teeth=D15B7 aka 92-95 DX belt. but double check and search after trying the belt which goes with the head you're using. The VX belt worked on my JDM D15B sohc vtec nice(timing with the up mark about 90 degrees up, and the 2 perpendicular lines lined up horizontally with the pointer on the cylinder head-----just like setting the timing for a USDM VX/D15z1 1.5L vtecE block as in the honda factory manual.
. Post up if none of those recommendations work.

well i already did the swap a few months ago, but the car was traded shortly afterwards and the new owner tells me the timing belt seems loose and he can't get it tighter so i'm thinking maybe the y8 timing belt isn't the right one for the z6/y8 combo.
I am for positive that you use the timing belt for a D15Z1 engine. You can find this in a 1994 VX 1.5 engine. Alhough the D15B is comprised of a D16Z6 head and a D15Z1 block you will use the timing belt and water pump that matches the block. Some people will tell you otherwise but they are incorrect - here's why:
D16Z6 timing belt has 104 teeth - obviously too long..
D15Z1 timing belt has 103 teeth - USE THIS BELT
JDM D15B timing belt has 103 teeth
hope this helps!
